Scoring?

Hi, having recently just got the new FM and been playing it for a couple of days, i am finding it extremly difficult to score with the tactics and team i am using. I am playing as Spurs and play a 4-1-2-2-1 formation and have bought Diego Forlan to try to help with the goals but still cant manage to beat teams like Stoke and Hull due to 0-0 draws. Can you help with any suggested players or tactics i could use to improve.

solution for lack of goal

i have play liverpool, i use 4-1-2-2-1 queroz,you can set your striker as a target man,set him to run with ball,i use it to artem milevsky n his got 11 gol at half season
