Graham's European adventure continues...
Celtic fans and football fans alike have recently been shocked by the improvements made by Graham's side.

Dated; 13th December 2009.

European progress since last update

Celtic recently qualified for the first knockout round of the European Champions League after winning 4 out of their 6 group stage ties with wins home and away against Moscow and Unirea. It has not been decided who Celtic will play in the next round but fan's are confident Graham has the team playing well enough to go far. The chairman stated that this was a major achievement as Moscow is a big club and he didnt realistically expect us to beat them twice.

Graham is said to be hoping for European giants Barcalona or Inter Milan early as he wants to show the footballing world he is capable of handling the pressure when it really matters.

League progress since last update

Celtic currently are running smoothly in the Championship with 22 games gone (20 in Celtic's case) they currently sit third (3rd) whilst club rivals Rangers sit 10th with a huge point gap between them and the playoff's meaning only a major chance in fortune's for the blue's would give them a chance of promotion, meanwhile Graham's side who have two game advantage at the moment over every side in the league look certainties to finish with glory this season as they have the highest league goal differance with +29 on the board.

Major transfer deal secured

Graham was happy to announce young starlet Christian Eriksen will be joining the club from 1st January from Ajax for £7.25 million, this figure was seen as a hefty amount to fork out for a 17 year old footballer with very little experience but Graham has assured fans he has confidence in Eriksen and he will make a huge differance to the style of play. Eriksen is expected to make his Danish debut soon as the manager holds him in high regard. Graham has thanked his chairman for letting the deal go ahead and mainly thanked then for giving him a increased budget due to Champions League progression which meant the deal could be sealed.

Celtic bow out with heads held high
* Update dated; 21st March 2009. Fancied pushing ahead so haven't updated for few game months.

Champions League update

Eliminated from the competition, drew Barcelona in the 1st round knockout and earned a precious 2-2 result at Celtic park which gave me real optimism for the second leg at the mighty Nou Camp, both legs were obviously sell outs. Second leg got hammered 5-1 after a beautiful performance by Messi who couldn't be stopped whatsoever, i am really proud of my players efforts none the less they performed beyond all expectations and got out of a tough group whilst the fixtures came thick and fast in the league it made the Champions League a big highlight for this season. Hopefully in a few season's i'll be able to achieve my dream of taking them all the way.

League update

Currently sitting top of the table with 88 points, whilst 2nd sit West Brom on 81 so that's the league won in my opinion with only half a dozen games left i shouldn't lose such a lead. Goal differance is +58 which is like a extra point on the table which also give's me a very good advantage. There have been lot's of 3-0 win's for example the season has gone really really well and Christian Eriksen has performed well and lived upto all expectation. Hopefully this season won't be my biggest achievement and better things are to come because i have a very good squad of players with a few star individuals.

Key players

I pointed out Eriksen in the league update so i won't hark on about him much in this but he really has improved my squad, coming on for 20 minutes to start with he became updroppable except for the Barcelona game when i tried to sneak a 1-0 win away which failed drastically. Robbie Keane's goalscoring form has returned with 13 goals so far from 29 league games with 13 assists and 6 (SIX) man of the match awards, he has been a true leader of this team and in my opinion could have single handedly won us promotion. Another player to impress recently was a player i knew little of before i took over Celtic, Danish striker Morten Rasmussen has scored 9 in 13 which is prolific at any level he's a player that i will be using next season for definate amazed he only has one cap for his country.

Next season

The main question here is; Will i keep Robbie Keane ?

Pre season update 24th june 2010
There have been many a change at Celtic park as of late one major point of happiness for manager Ben Graham is the boards announcement that the stadium capacity will be improved by 14'650 seats eventually taking the total fans in the ground to over 70'000 which will rival Manchester United's current capacity and be a major source of revenue funding future transfers etc. Graham is said to be pleased at everything going on at the club and has stated the current chairman is the best man he's ever worked with. The project of stadium increasing in size is set to cost £19.5million but this won't affect Graham's budget.

On the player side of things at the club Graham was happy to announce Aiden McGeady has signed a new 4 year contract at the club, this deal wasn't needed so to speak because the player was tied up for another couple of season's but Graham is keen to make sure McGeady stays with the club whilst he is manager.
aiden-mcgeady_1207366c.jpg

Comings and goings from the club have been swift and decisive with many players mainly youth not having contracts renewed, Graham stated this is a top job he has at a top club and he needs top players to keep the pride of the Glasgow giants and anyone not deemed good enough will be told. 7 players are currently looking for clubs after Graham overlooked there plea's for new deals. New players coming in are Craig Cathcart on a free after being released by Manchester United, Graham Dorrans of West Brom for a fee of £10million, Edson Braafheid of Bayern Munich for undisclosed fee.

This morning news has broke that Celtics first tie is a juicy away encounter with Sir Alex Fergusons Manchester United side. Graham has already thrown caution at the prestigious manager Sir Alex by saying his Celtic team have the potential to knock him 'off his perch' and that Brian Clough was a more celebrated manager. Celtic are long shot's at a title bid according to SKYbet.com which gives them a 1000-1 chance of gaining the trophy, only time will tell ...

Celtic splash £30 in European push

Glasgow giants Celtic have pushed the boundaries of their financial sustainablility once more today and unveiled £30million pounds worth of world class footballers. First player in was announced after having a great season in France 23 year old star Loic Remy from Nice for a fee believed to be around £13million, the uncapped French star knocked in 28 goals in 31 games last season and is seen as a major investment that will replace Robbie Keane who left the club after a successful loan last season. Graham invested in two Inter Milan defenders on free transfers which were also unveiled firstly Nicolas Burdisso who will give a solid look to the team and also Nelson Rivas who is a rock at the back it's thought these players are also major improvements on what's left.

Grahams first challenge is against Manchester United in two days and these signings are said to have pleased him immensely, Celtic are predicted to finish 10th by most media firms but could spring a suprise this season

Premier League update.
Four games into the new premier league season and Celtics euphoria has been slightly dampened after a slow start to the new campaign. A tough 4-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on the opening day of season showed Graham exactly how tough his challenge to make his team competative in this league. A bore draw against Blackburn didn't help steady the early nerves for Celtic but next up was Burnley a team most seen as beatable and this was proven by a solo goal by Aiden Mcgeady in a 1-0 win. The forth and last game in this update was against Chelsea, a game nobody expected Graham's men to beat and everyone was proven right during the 1-0 lose, Drogba scoring the only goal.

Graham's men have a tough task ahead after picking up 4 points in 4 games hopefully a imrpovement in fortune's is on the cards for the Glasgow greens.

Just came accross your story. Looks good and will follow with interest. You will be playing in both the Scottish and FA Cups which is going to a bit random but cool none the less :)

Just finishing the update, look over tonight (around 8.30).

I haven't came across Scottish competition as of yet, its a really good database you threw together full credit for this story goes to you :)

Hi, yeah the database can be found by clicking the link in my sig (although this is an updated version).

Will be following, good luck. And this database does sound great, when do you think you may have a fix to get the scottish two in the league cup? As I don't really want to end up restarting a game :P

Also, do the celtic/rangers reserves and U18s play in the right group/league?

cheers mate,on mine i enter the league cup okay the game is quite normal but with added attraction of european football first season.

Under 18's and reserves play in normal English league's, both my teams won the league more or less unbeaten last season but this season i released a lot of players who werent good enough in my opinion and didnt really replace them so my team's keep losing my 5,6,7 even 8 goals at times which is a minor problem i need to solve.

Today our magazine has a interview with young Celtic manager Ben Graham, this young man once played for boyhood club Shrewsbury but had his career cut short by a razor sharp tackle which nearly resulted in him never walking again. This interview was conducted on the 14th November 2010 after Hulls 1-1 close fought battle with Graham's stylish Celtic side.

Q. Hello and welcome Mr. Graham firstly i would like to thank you for taking time out to come down here and answer some questions. How are you enjoying life at Celtic park ?

A. Cheers for inviting me i don't usually get the chance to do one on one interviews it's usually huge press conference's and questions get thrown around repeatedly so i stopped doing that. I am absolutely loving my time at Celtic, not many clubs with such prestigious history would give me a chance i am fully in their debt.

Q. You were a shock contender for the job but proved the board that you are the right man for the club, did the fans accept you from the offset ?

A. This club has a tremendous amount of fans and that loyalty was rewarded by the club improving the stadium capacity to 75'000 almost on par with Manchester United, the fans accepted me from the first day and i will not rest until i've won the premier league with this group of players and achieved glory in Europe, these fans deserve success as does the chairman who put such faith in me.

Q. So your saying you see your future at Celtic for a while, even if Shrewsbury Town came calling ?

A. Hmm, thats a very tricky question. Shrewsbury Town is a club very, very close to my heart and in the future i plan to manage there. I did the club a huge favour by selling them a young lad out of our reserve's called Paul McGowan last season for £60'000 which worked well for both of us as he pushed them onto promotion with 17 league goals. I am very happy at Celtic but the future is the future and you never know.

Q. Back to Celtic, your currently sitting 10th after 13 games played which is on par with what media predictions at start of season agreed on, can you see a european push this season ?

A. Simply, no. At this current stage we are adjusting to the standard of football played in this division, we are on paper one of the best sides but some players are struggling. I can see us sitting safely around about 10th come May. Anything higher would be a terrific first season in the English top flight.

Reporter; Thank you Mr. Graham for your time for this full and honest interview. Good luck this season and for anything that happens in the future.
