Let me know how he turns out when he gets to your club!

---------- Post added at 02:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 AM ----------

I meant to say something about this earlier, but I believe this is something SI really needs to fix in FM12.

A top quality scout should be able to anticipate the increase in potential from the player joining your club (or decrease even which I've seen from when I've signed regens from top clubs)

This would make getting good scouts very important and useful!

yup ur right montanaro.

i also ahd eyes on a spanish regen forward, and was dudb the new Torres, (the one when he use to bang goal in a liverpool shirt. lol). the first report said it had a PA of 2.5 stars. haha.

then a few months later i scout him again , and the report became good, 3 stars. :P plan to get him when he's near 20, atm he's 17 and i have some 'new' alan shearer's too in my reseve/u18 squad.

don't rely on too much on players being dubbed "the next player x"

It doesn't have anything to do with potential. It's based on nationality, position, and a couple other things such as personality. It doesn't have much to do with skill

hahah true. but some of them do become great world class players. lol

In my experience they tend to have some potential and are very similar players (ie Phil Jones next John Terry) but I dont take much notice of this myself, more interested in his potential fullstop then who he is similar to.

right, and yes i brought him into the squad , now im letting him play reserve games this season, and then next season start to introduce him more in to the XI.

when should i loan him out, like at 18 or 19 ? i would like him to get that HG status so yeah, English clubs (championship teams ?? ) are what im looking for.

and any suggestions, like ppm or individual trainings. tutoring ? umm i'll wait till he can learn some English since i dont have a french elder CB, and my other XI cbs are good in english. it will take time :P

Whats his PA star rating now?

I'd teach him to not dribble with the ball (since dribbling is 4 and speed is low)

and I always ship my 18 year olds off on loans. Reserve matches don't help too much.

it shot up straight to 4.5 dramatically :P

well let me see if any English club is in for him. will update

Precisely what I anticipated!

Now I bet you'll be looking at signing all sorts of Africans

yeah. but i wait for the right time. :p
as i have even some players i brought in at 17, and now they are already XI memebrs :P

and i had to play like 20k or him hahah. as for Nze, no club wanted him so i just sent him to doncaster, who are my affilates. already impressing them :P

i guess it adds to the realistic part of the game
there ain't to perfect scout IRL
i trust my scouts all the time and they are 90% right

I have a wonderkid with 200 PA and 90% potential rating. But my best scout only gives him 3.5 potential star. I thought scouting are rubbish, but when that kid fully mature, he is not nearly as good, when his CA reach 199 his potential rating drop is only 80% and his stats is ok but no where near his old potential rating.

Read thread mate, the scout wasn't wrong.
he was actually the player could improve everything by 6 or 7 based on his difference between CA and PA
his ambition profesionalism and determination show that he indeed can do that since they are all around 15
the scout on the other hand said he will improve most stats by 3

Read the thread

I've explained why there is a difference. It's not the scout, it's how Sports Interactive have the game designed.

yeah they designed it so every half gold star difference between CA and PA means the player can improve most stats by 1
i mean its not if he got 3 4 5 golden stars PA its all about the difference between the CA and PA if u look for a young player so u know how much he can improve

I think it may have to do with club rep.If you have won major trophies many times sometimes even players with high PA and CA are knocked down on stars.I was once told Messi wasnt good enough for my United squad after I put up there rep with the editor.More likley a glitch tho.

SI designed scouts to where they will judge a player's PA based on where he is currently playing; Scouts do not judge a player by what his PA would be at your club if he transferred.

The scouting report was not wrong as has been explained. A potential world class legendary player will not reach that level by playing for a club in Fiji. A scout will say such a player is 1.5 star PA because the game isn't designed for scouts to judge how a player would do at YOUR club. He is judging the player at his current club. This is a proven game mechanic.
