Hello guys !

I am a FM player since around 10 years and i have a problem in this FM17 beta, that my second season is at each time a mess !
I tried three games (with Marseille, Barcelona and again Marseille) and my first season is globaly good. Champion or second with Marseille and I improve the team int the off season with good staffs, and 4 stars players. And using the same tactic (most of the time a 4 3 3 with ball possession etc ...). But the second season begins defeat after defeat and i finally get fired around Christmas in the second season. Really don't understand and the same thing in the tree games i played !

You too ?!

dont know because havent reached there but probably that happen because of the smart ai this year

probably they counter ur tatic

How many players are you bringing in? Are they suited to the tactic? Did you make any changes to the tactic? Are teams still approaching you the same way?

Not much changes, 2 or 3 players, new staff during the first season and some (2) in the off season. And same tactic. Everything that worked in the first, come to a mess in the second ... that's a mystery ...

That's a good question ! I didn't looked at this ...
But what ? You change your tactic every year ?

No. I change it if it needs changing. Sometimes a small change; other times big; other times I run it for multiple seasons without changing.

Are they usually advice you don't agree with or just because you trust yourself more?
Both/Either. I know what I want, so I don't need 2nd opinions. I normally don't even pay attention to the advice.

Success alters your reputation. That impacts how teams will set up to face you. Which in turn affects how your tactic functions. Depending on multiple factors, it may have little impact or it may render your tactical approach much less effective.

Look at Leicester. Teams played them a certain way last year and they exploited it perfectly and ruthlessly. A significant reason behind their lesser success this season in the Prem is that fewer teams are attacking them so they can't defend and then counter. they are still being allowed to in Europe, but not so much domestically. Its a perfect example of what the AI tends to do.

Sure. And Wenger and Pochettino and every other manager who couldn't get their club to perform on a consistent basis. Leciester were consistent, like it or not. Their point total wasn't amazing but it was only a couple points shy of the average champions total over the six prior seasons. Their goal difference wasn't out of line with other champions. They didn't only gain points at home, or against smaller opposition, or anything else you want to point to minimize it.

Any champion in any season can be minimized if you want to simply out what others didn't do that they could have. But why brush off an accomplishment like that?

Wenger won his first title with fewer points when I think it was a 42 game season.

Hi guys, is there a tactical help somewhere ?
Because I don't know when do I have to change my tactic and what ? Do I have to wait to lose 5 games in a row to change and what changings ?
I play possession ball tactic and I tried to play more direct in the second season but it doesn't work. Even with players who have good statistics in their positions I choosed. Must I change completely my tactic ?
And is there something that indicate me that the other managers know how to play against me, or only the defeat ?

Man, that's a lot of questions, but this FM is testing me like never

This is basically the same question you asked earlier and the answer won't change.

Change if change is needed. Whether it means it'll need big changes or smaller ones, depends on what the issues are.

Before you start thinking about changes - first identify your issues. And I'm not talking about "my team can't score" vague reasons. I'm talking about "I can't score because my strikers aren't finding space because the defence is when they get the ball and the striker is then easy to mark" type of reasoning.

For that, you'd need to watch what's happening.

So there's no way to have good results with only viewing the commentaries during the game ?
I have to spend my day watching a full game in 3D and understand like a real coach who did X years of formation ?

Don't get me wrong, but for quick games and easy solutions I think that's the purpose of FM Touch :S

Yes, of course it is.

You don't have to, but you don't seem to have a clue about what's wrong, so how else are you going to find out?

And it's not 'a day' you spend. Watch 10-15mins of a match in full and you'll already have a much clearer picture of what's going on.
