Selling your key player

I ve just started a game with fulham and as I anticipated interest is high with hangenland, probably my best player. I think I could get about 15 mil but what factors do you take into account when selling your best players?

I suppose the main thing is, are you able to replace him with a player of similar ability, for a lower price? No point selling your best player then having no-one to replace him, or selling him for £15m then finding a replacement would cost £20m.

Best ones I could think of would be Cahill or Dawson for <£10m
