its never a good idea to put 2 CB. you will get vulnerable and i wont recommend it.

A fairly good tactic is suppose but not the best as someone pointed out it only works with the best so not trying to cause a arguement or something but im not going to use this tactic as im currently manaing Port vale so it will fail badly as im guessing so no hard feelings. Theres was a tactic similar to this on the last fm that was based on a 3 center backs 2 wingbacks 1 defensive mid 1 center mid 2 attacking mids and 1 striker that was a highly successful tactic even in the lower leagues so there might be a tactic in the future for fm 10 similar to the one im talking about.

I wouldn't argue with a fellow Arsenal supporter, don't worry. Like you said this is a tactic for only the top clubs, no denying that. It would ruin Port Vale, so right decision. I believe the tactic you are talking about was tested on an Arsenal side or based on them, I'm not totally sure. Probably worth having a shot with that tactic if you are looking for something similar though.

I will however argue with this Arsenal Supporter on the basis that he supports two teams, which in the football world is kind of looked down upon. Especially when it's Glory hunting Real Madrid. You have a point, BUT if those two centre backs are world class, Such as John Terry & Rio Ferdinand, then although you will still concede goals. With this tactic you'll score more than you'll ever let in.

Im from northern Ireland, sorry didnt want to cause arguements, anyways mate what about away games or against higher teams would they not rip you apart? with only two centre backs, long ball all over the top everytime?.

Irish! you should have said before. Should be fine with away games, Teams that will rip you apart with this tactic are one that use wingers and play wide football. If your Dc's have good positioning and concentration, they should be able to use the offside trap very well, if the opponent is trying to use long balls. Carragher was very good at doing this in my season with Liverpool.

Hmmm... two cb's is pretty risky, overload at the start is risky, 2 wing backs is pretty risky, maybe this tactic should have been called 'Risky football?'
