After leaving Newcastle Alan Shearer has been on the hunt for a new job. Today we can confirm that Shearer has taken over at Fiorentina after chairman Diego Della Valle said "It's time for a change around here."

Will former Newcastle boss Alan Shearer(above) bring success at Fiorentina?

Shearer has wasted little time in getting rid of players and bringing in new blood. Mario Bolatti(CFR Cluj) and Cesare Natali(Palermo) have both been loaned out. They are not the only ones to be gone as Shearer helped out old side Newcastle by selling them Massimo Gobbi for £1.8M. Vlada Avramov has left to join AS Nancy Lorraine for £1.9M, Marco Donadel has signed for Stoke City for £10M, Mario Santana will be playing at Stamford Bridge this season after a £10.5M move and Romanian badman Adrian Mutu has signed for FC Bayern for £11.75M.

A new start. Adrian Mutu (above) will look to put his past behind him.

Alan Shearer has also signed 4 free agents, Joe Cole, Dan Gosling, Juan Roman Riquelme and William Gallas along with Park Chu-Young (£15.25M) and Miroslav Klose (£3M)

Miroslav Klose (above) is such a legendary figure in Germany.

Shearer is also trying to sign young Everton midfield star Jack Rodwell. Shearer commented on the player by saying, "Jack Rodwell is a fantastic young talent, i've seen him play plenty of times and if Everton don't want to sell, then we can't make them."

Fiorentina 3-1 Cagliari
Gilardino (7, 31, pen 70)
Jeda (29)

After the match Shearer was asked about his teams performance and Alberto Gilardino's performance, this is what he had to say, "I think we played really, really well against a strong Cagliari team. I was impressed with the defence, we looked strong, organised and hard to break down. The midfield was great on and off the ball, their movement and passing awas a real thrill to watch. and upfront with Miroslav and Alberto was brialliant, Miroslav won all the headers and was unlucky not to score. As for Alberto well i saw abit of me in him out there today."

Very nice so far, I like how you found a picture with Black and White stripes behind him to look like Juventus. I assume that was intentional. :)
