Short or direct passes best for open chances?

I was wondering whether short or direct passes is the best key to many "good" chances and not just long shots. And combinated with tempo and creative freedom? What are your experiences.

it really doesnt matter what you play short or direst, They have the exactly same result

it just depends of the players you got -

if you got a quality playmaker like fabregas who can pick out a pass out of nothing and you got a striker that is willing to beat the offside trap then short or direct will have the same result.

vela always beats the offside if you get him to learn it.
