Signing Kids

Can someone explain to me how I can attempt to sign some young players with unprotected contracts without agreeing a fee with the club and not others? Eg: I have just offered a contract to a lad in the northern Irish league but unable to do it with others from a European club.

I think most under-18s start having signed a pre-contract.. I could be totally wrong mind you.
P.s How ****** hard is it starting a SAFC save this year! oh well KTF.

Yea, its been quite the battle, 2nd season full on button down the hatches type stuff. However 2nd season I reached the F.A Cup final, 3rd season almost sacked in December, got to the UEFA cup final and got beat by Barca in the 90th. Look to be building a really strong team.

There are some good youngsters that's free at the start with the likes of Dean Parrett and Esteban Lopez that I have been impressed with so far, and I'm with Ipswich! We got nooooooooooo money
