First expectation was just to qualify after the mess Maradona left them in. When I did qualify, semi-final was the minimum expectation

Another Injury!​

Argentina's injury table has been increased yet again as central defender Nicolas Burdisso has twisted his knee. He will miss the Italy game and the final should Argentina get there. Ezequiel Garay will be his replacement.​

It was a great match. Italy scored in the 88th minute to take it to extra time. Truly epic, both teams battled until the end of extra time and we had to go to penalties to get a winner. Zarate scored the winning penalty and Vilar saved 3 penalties for the Argies!!!​

The 2010 World Cup final!​

Argentina will face Uruguay in the final of the 2010 World Cup. Some of you might recall the first ever World Cup which was also contested by these two South American sides back in 1930, Uruguay won that contest but this will be very, very different.​

Uruguay won group A, against the likes of Italy, Croatia and Morroco. They beat England in the 2nd round and Switzerland in the Quarter finals. They got to the final by beating Greece! So... They have certainly shown what they can do, by winning a tough group and knocking out England along with some tough teams. Argentina are the pacey, flair side, with quality young players, the likes of Messi, Tevez, Aguero, Higuain and Di Maria have been brilliant for the South Americans. Argentina won a group with the USA, South Korea and Denmark to get to the 2nd round where they defeated rivals Brazil. They then beat fellow South Americans Chile in the quarters. They got to the final by beating giants Italy on penalties in an epic encounter. What a game we look forward to.​

'We will win' says Simeone!​

Argentina legend Diego Simeone has told the Argentinian fans that Argentina will win the 2010 World Cup. Argentina face Uruguay in Soccer City, Johannasburg and are favourites. Argentina have greater quality, but how will they cope without, Mascherano, Demichelis, Burdisso and their latest injury, goalkeeper Vilar? Leo Franco will start the final in place of the injured Federico Vilar.​

Argentina captain, Javier Zanetti and Juan Sebastian Veron have decided to retite from playing for their national team, Mascherano replaces Zanetti as captain. Cambiasso comes in as vice captain.
