That's not a counter strategy.

Counter means that your players will take less risks, that's a common mistake.

You need to understand that the exact same tactic does not always work with all teams. Maybe you can try to tweak it and make it suitable for your team?

Check out this SS, I might be 10th in the league but it's took me a while to perfect your tactic as I never turned OI's off or did the general training, but since I've did everything your OP says look at this result I got against man utd who are top of the league! 6-0!!! I can't believe it! Ullao got 2 goals then got injured then chris wood comes on and bags a hat-trick! Your final home tactic is the nuts mate and it's good for strikers too! I don't think you're gonna be able to perfect it much more than this mate, Maybe you can find a good away tactic, I haven't really tested this out for away matches yet but I'll see how I get on...

The tactic is great... but... I feel like AMC is copmletely useless. It doesn't matter who I put in this position, he gets ratings like 6.5, 6.6 at best, he doesn't score, he doesn't get assists, he doesn't do much at all :/
Is there any way to change that?

i dont know for u but in my arsenal save ive sold wilshere ozil and bought j rodriguez from madrid, he is a beast for me but well he does every free kick and corner
