I have been using Lincoln City in the Skrill Premier and having trouble with formation/tactics.

At the moment I am playing 4-2-3-1 but conceding a fair amount of goals.

I have read that playing defensive is the best option for lower leagues.

can someone confirm this?

any tactics/help would be appreciated.

thanks,

fancy tactics, like the 4-2-3-1 are best left to the more advanced teams. For the lower leagues and far less able teams, you want to just use a 4-4-2 using basic roles, like CM, WM, CD, FB, ST and try to avoid specialised roles.

Yeah, I figured since I am a Sunday league footballer and we play 4-2-3-1, I assumed these guys could cope with it..

I will go back to basics, and use a 4-4-2.

thanks for your suggestion.

I play in the Oberliga (5th tier of Germany) and I lay 4-2-3-1, I'm second in the table, scoring many goals but I also concede a lot. 7 games 21 goals, 10 conceded, 4 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses.

Do you want me to give you some screens? (can't upload tactic sorry)

yeah, a few screens would be awesome.

I've managed back to back promotions with Eastleigh from Skrill South to League 2 without to many new players and in the process breaking both goalscoring and points records in both leagues.

This was done with the imba tactic by Totalfootballfan over at sigames forum.
I highly recommend it :)
