Laptop is running Football Manager 17 so slow that it's nearly unplayable. The match engine is unplayable and I can only progress by holidaying games. Any help lads? FM used to work fine up until a few months ago (I had this issue with Football Manager 16). My brother has a cheap laptop and it runs fine for him, so I can't quite understand.

Laptop details:

Product name:HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC
Product number:J5B89EA#ABU
BIOS (Configuration):F.42-03/18/2015 (0975100000405F10000620180)
Keyboard revision:77.35
Total memory:8.00 GB
Processor name:Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz

1.70 ghz is low for fm.u could always use throttlestop to boost performance.are your power settings on high performance?

Hello mate, thanks for the reply.

Yeah, set for high performance. I'll try Throttlestop. So the problem is just not enough GHz? I'm not good with computers, so is there a way to rectify that? Because like I said, FM used to work fine.

Also, looked at setting again and it says both 1.70 and 2.40, so that's confused me even more!
