For all the rave reviews about this tactic, it seems that for some reason it doesn't work for me when I used it. I am playing Man United in the inaugural season and seems to lose the edge when I use this tactic.

You need to allow your team to settle into the tactic. It took my side 5 games before they got into it and 26 league games later i'm unbeaten............. However i'm now starting to conceed early and have lost the odd game in the cup. The only changes i made to the tactic were to switch my two wingers and my two central midfielders. Any suggestions on a few tweaks to get my team going again?

Winning games early of the season and after January starting to lose, FA cup and also the premiership to Arsenal. Also having my ST injured so many times.

ok im gnna try this out with my charlton team il let you know how it goes

just an update for you.

Hello

I have used this tactic for approximately 6 - 7 months into the season and I have struggled like **** with this tactic to be honest. I might be at the top of the league but like some others have said defensively its a massive issue. I might sound like a ****** especially when I am first in the league but the leakage of goals especially in Europe and some games in the Premierleague have been pathetic.

The Uefa cup I had already been knocked out (I changed my tactic slightly against Valencia) in the second half due to a 3-0 thrashing in the first half obviously away from home it shouldnt be attack + High creative freedom anyway I changed that and it just made things worse :/ I ended up losing the game 7-0 my team was a total shambles.

I have used quite alot of tactics during the time I have had the game some from the FM 09 forums and some from what I made which generally failed because of a 6 month getting used to figure then getting killed because everyone knew how I was going to play.

I would really like some help on how I could become more powerful defensively. The tactic is decent but the hard tackling, Closing down, Low creative freedom failed when I changed the tactic slightly while when I use the exact same instructions has the downloaded tactic I can score but I also concede quite alot aswell its a potential problem.

With Manchester City and all the money I have to spend beforehand I shouldnt be conceding so many sloppy goals it might happen in real life but players like Micah Richards, Richard Dunne and even David Luiz are very good defenders on the game I feel and the amount of mistakes they seem to do with this tactic is incredible.

I would be extremely thankful if anybody could suggest on how I could tighten things up so I could dominate a match with a massive goal threat while being a team which can defend and intercept the ball cleanly because I could compare my team has the real Manchester City with one game going awesome and the other losing 4-1 against Fulham at home so its a little depressing :P.

Sorry if I sound like im rubbishing your tactic :> its actually pretty good I just need a few ideas on how to make this tactic great with good attacking and great defending which every manager/team would love.

I tinkered with the defence and set them a little more defencise and made the two CMs switch positions and made one more defence minded. 38 league games and i conceded 21 goals. What i've now done is created 2 more tactics from this one. The first makes my Wingers cross more and sets the two CMs as defensive. Used that against Liverpool in my final league game away from home and won 2-0. The Second one the wingers are set to normal and again the CMs are more defensive. This time the AM has a free role and set as play maker. I beat AC Milan in the Uefa cup semi first leg at home 9-2!!! My wingers on all three sets switch wings. Its worked for me and although teams are lining up against me more defensively i'm able to switch the tactics without changing shape which appears to be keeping one step ahead of the AI............ For now 8-|

it dosnt work for me i win games agaist big teams then get totally dominated and deystroyed by the teams im expected to beat by far

ta mate ill try it and tell us in a bit how you'vedone and ill tell you how i've done ta

i cant upload this tactic? can someone type it please please please

Never mind, I got it. :) The tactic have worked pretty well for me... I play with a Swedish team. Have played for about 7 games with this tactic I think... Won most of them but not with much! Hope it gets a little more solid than it feels right now. :/ ;)

hmm the screenshots dont lie, good tactic mate, but doesnt it leave a bit of a gap between the defence and midfield?

Im trying it with Leeds in the championship (2nd season) whether it will work or not is a different matter :P

So far, 6 games with this tactic, W3 D1 L2 but one of those losses was in the carling cup against pompey. However i can see a lot of promise for this tactic as im creating sackfuls of chances, i just need my strikers to get a grip! I will stick by it for now...
