I've been playing FM09 for a while now and had mainly used teams from the lower leagues so thought id have a go with a massive transfer budget.

im in mid august, and so far ive;

Sold:
Elano - 6M
Wright Phillips - 8.5M
Hamann - 500k
De Jong - 17.75M
Bridge - 13M
Jo - 11.5M

Bought:
Bale - 13.5M
Lenny - 5.25M
Leo - 11M
Teixiera - 5.5M
Vela - 9.5M
Breno - 10M
Zhirkov - 14.5M
Alexis Sanchez - 4.5M
Asenjo - 7.75M
Vagner Love - 15M
Marquinhos - 11.5M
Srna - 12M
Joao Moutinho - 12.5M
Miguel Veloso - 12M

Any ideas who I should sign next?

Im not too bothered about the position, i just want an outfield player. I have about 25M to spend as i'm mid way through some player sales.
This is my first season, so players like Torres, Rooney, Aguero etc. will not come to me.

fair point, lol. im just trying to build a strong first team, then build a reserve/youth team out of brazialian wonderkids and several other strong attacking wonderkids
 
when i was man city i just bought every summer offloaded a few and brought in more players never bought in January though
 
Thats enough guys IMO, just wait and let them gel, and next transfer window u may find some free gems... I know Kerrison became free for me.
 
i usually sign eduardo guardado think his name is from deportivo, can usually get him for £16.5M i usually buy him rather than zirkhov because i usee a 442, he's excellent on the left wing, and u can always sell him later for a massive fee to barca or real
 
And it's good to ****** some cheap kids who has potential, such as Wagner from inter, hes pretty good if you get the permit through. Also, guys like Bruna, and Clinchy are always nice buys.
 
id of sold 1 or 2 players (jo & bridge) + any fringe player over 30

replace jo with a decent striker (maybe vagner love or arshavin) and bridge with bale.

then buy some good kids, theyll play on the fringes and are likely to have lower wages than you old 30+ fringe players you just sold.
 
I always buy pato for 25 mil plus elano thn in my fourth season sold him to chelsea for 66 mil plus joe cole who is 33 and wort 10 m mil

Disgraceful right? I don't manage any of Tottenham's rivals in this game, think the only other London team in the Premiership I considered managing was Fulham, but still didn't. :P
 
i would buy antonio valencia to provide cover/first team at right mid and then maybe sakho
 
Henri Saivet and Yannis Tafer turn out amazing, they'd be very good investments in my opinion :D
 
correct me if im wrong but is this another man city thread that can go along with the other 500 forums
