*one last long term save on FM16. Using FMT I have applied 'Generate a Son' to Barcelona. Can son emulate father at FCB?

I must have reloaded 50 times trying to get the son to be a top potential striker to truly emulate the little genius but with no luck. Got a five star goalkeeper once called Jose Carlos Messi but there's no fun in nets!

I will be using Eusebio's v3 and playing Juanjo in the AM position from the start.

I'll use instant result and post monthly (or bi-monthly) updates.

Let's see what we can achieve with Messi Junior.​

Debut in the Super Cup and marked it with an assist as he also claimed his first ever senior trophy.

A sprained ankle set him back for 4-5 weeks soon after.

However he marked his return from injury with a goal in the 2-0 win over Las Palmas.

Juanjo Messi is now Barcelona's youngest ever appearance maker and goalscorer!

Scored away to Sevilla but a relatively quiet period with a few 45 minute appearances. Some signs of improvements on the training ground however.

Father Leo Messi has been poor with only 3 goals this season. A change of tactics may be required.​

Thrust into the first team squad aged 16, becoming the youngest ever player and goalscorer for FCB, Jaunjo done fairly well. His average rating will improve over the coming seasons and his trophy cabinet is beginning to fill up. Will he reach the haul of Leo?

A clean sweep. All despite a very slow start with lots of injuries and suspensions. We were 8 points behind Real at one stage.​
 
Juanjo can look forward to playing in a new stadium in a couple of seasons.

As a mini-challenge I will look to revive the famous Barcelona youth system which seems to have dried up a bit in recent years. The plan is to have at least one graduate a season in and around the first team.

Ever improving on and off the pitch and starting to get international recognition. 50 league appearances now aged only 18.

Competing with Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Milik and Breel Embrolo, Costa's journey to the first team will not be as easy as Juanjo's but 2 goal in 3 goals show his great potential.

Season two as a professional sees Juanjo progress more adding another league title to his blossoming collection. However a late collapse saw us lose the Champions League final on penalties to unfancied Bayer Leverkusen.

Among the nominations for the Young Player of the Year award. Surely a future winner..

Costa featured more towards the end of the season as the league was wrapped up early and again showed he has great potential with 4 goals in 11 games. Also broke the record for youngest goalscorer in the Champions League.

No goals this season but improvements made on the training ground. Unhappy because of a lack of first team games (despite us having Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Embrolo and Milik). Possibly sending him out on loan next season. TBC

We were FM'd out of the Champions League losing to Schalke on penalties after drawing the second leg 1-1 to a team who didn't have a single shot the entire game!​

Season 4 - Part 1

Despite a huge injury crisis including significant injuries to ter Stegen and Rulli we have just hammered Real Madrid to move back to the top of the table.

Loaned out in the second division. A goal every 2 games isn't too bad.
