View attachment 263521

Today the saint's have announced Waterkamp as their new manager. This has come to a shock

to most supporters, however they understand that a change was needed in order to get the

club back to the Glory Days! although they did want a change Waterkamp is an unknown

manager and this is his first managerial job, this has giving the fans some mixed feelings and

are not sure whether he will be able to take them forward. But they have welcomed him none the

less. Chairman Nicola cortese has placed great faith in Waterkamp and has reassured

supporters that Waterkamp is more than capable. in a Press Conference Waterkamp said he

"can't wait to get started". This seems great for the club however a top half finish is only

expected for the club.

Waterkamp Gets Off To A Losing Start

Brighton 2-1 Southampton - N-power Championship

View attachment 263873

Waterkamp would obviously like to put his first match behind him, the team just didnt show up, the saints took an early lead due to an own goal, but the team then failed to push on and this was the cause of the downfall. Waterkamp says this is due to them team not having enough time to gel, but has said the team will bounce back as they eye promotion.

Swindon 1-2 Southampton - League Cup 1st Round

View attachment 263894

Southampton were the favourites and they dominated the game, but failed to convert many chances, it took till the 89th for them to get the deserved 2-1 victory.

Southampton 5-0 Cardiff City - N-Power Championship

View attachment 263878

The Saints fans will be ecstatic after this result as the thrash Cardiff, the match looked like it would be a draw, but Waterkamps men had different thoughts on their minds. they got of to a quick start when they went 1-0 up after just 4 mins, new captain Jack Cork then doubled there lead after 17 mins, Lallana then put there club 3-0 up going into HT. An own goal added a forth before Lambert finished off the destruction with the fifth.

Crystal Palace 1-3 Southampton - N-Power Championship

View attachment 263880

Southampton 0-3 Leicester City - N-Power Championship

View attachment 263888

Disaster of a result for the saints as the team lose and were just not up to it, they went 1-0 down just at half time and they then doubled there lead on the 80th min, and finished them off in injury time. Waterkamp stated that his was furious with his teams performance and it is expected that delfouneso will miss the next two weeks due to injury.

View attachment 263899

The Saints will be over the moon with this one as they cause a big upset against premier league Aston villa, Southampton took the lead at the 33rd but Villa quickly equalized before HT. It was then late in the match before ever dependable Lambert got a quick fire double to win the game and send the Saints through in some time.

Southampton 2-1 Nottm Forest - N-Power Championship

View attachment 263892

The Saints end the season on a high and in great fashion, due to Delfouneso being injured 17 new signing Achahbar was given a chance and he didnt upset, he got off to a great start getting a goal on his debut deep into first half injury time this equaled the score as Forest had went 1-0 up just 3 minutes before.
