Anybody who was experiencing the squad numbers issue (couldn't assign numbers and players would only play in 1-11) has probably downloaded and installed Super Bladesman's English National League System. delete it. then go to
http://www.filefront.com/14851703/England-to-Level10_Super-Bladesman_Build-041.zip/
and download the latest one which fixes the issue. Extract to My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\editor data\
restart the game, and voila.
sad face at the fact you'll probably have to start a new game though.
