Chapter 1 - PRE SEASON 2011/12

Opening_Paper.png

Aurelio De Laurentis has announced the appointment of Legendary Italian Roberto Robinson as the clubs new Manager. Robinson who was born in the Italian Capital Rome, moved to England when aged 3 and forged himself a Footballing career playing for English Club Middlesbrough, becoming a club legend by the age of 22. Called up to the Italian squad for the 2002 World Cup in Japan & Korea just before his 20th Birthday and scored 3 goals in te tournament. A serious injury cut short his career when he was 25, before he could become one of the World Greats. He then moved into the coaching side of the Game, taking up the role as a Youth Coach, before moving to Tottenham as a First Tam Coach. A move back to his homeland in early 2010 resulted in him landing the Managers position at Modena in Serie B, just missing out on promotion to Seria A by 6 points. Now De Laurentis clearly believes that the 28 year old has what it takes to lead a top flight club. With the arrival of Robinson comes the return of a Legend to Naples, Diego Maradona will return to the club he brought so much glory to in the late 80s. It is believed that Maradona will be used to lure players from all over the world as well as advise Robinson in his first few seasons at Napoli, although both Robinson, and particularly Maradona have caused controversy throughout their respective careers, it wont be long before we see if this gamble will work.

Squad strengthening is very much needed if the Neopolitans are to challenge the big guns like the Milan Clubs and Juventus. Robinson will look to develop young players through the Newly improved Youth Academy, which after next season should be in line with the best clubs in the World. The San Paolo will be modernised in the next few years and there is a possibility of increasing the capacity if Robinson brings a Return to the Glory Years.

Pre Season 2011/12

Robinson and Maradona Jet into Naples!!

Roberto Robinson and Argentine Legend Diego Maradona landed at Aeroporto Internazionale di Napoli this morning and put the finishing touches to their 30k per week contracts. Both contracts will run for 3 years and will be assessed after the first season.

Robinson Arrives at San Paulo

The two men have been given the challenge to bring back the sucess the team experienced during Maradonas time here, when Napoli won 2 Titles, 1 Coppa Italia and 1 UEFA cup. Along with this, they aim to have Napoli competing with the Likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Liverpool and Manchester Utd for the Champions League. Creating a World Class team will be a slow process but the foundations are in place, we are now going to build the house, then over the next few years we will paint and decorate it. Developing Young talent will be the main main focus, but this will take time, maybe 5 to 6 years. In the time being the squad will need to be strenghtened in all areas in order to compete at the top for a whole season.

CURRENT TROPHIES

CupWins.png

Overall a very good pre season, top quality signings which have added much strength to the Squad, although funds are now running low, which means a few players will be on their way out of San Paolo. Brilliant results, 25 goals scored and only 2 conceded and to top it off, a 3-0 destruction of Juve to give us our first trophy of the new era. Next up, Europa League Qualifiers against the Greeks and then on the 28th, the beginning of the new Serie A season!!

Update soon please man loving it so far :)

The Season Begins:

The Season Begins!!

With pre season coming to a close it is now time to concentrate on the upcoming season. Napoli will be expecting to finish in the top 6 at a minimum, but Roberto Robinso believes that they could finish in a Champions League spot. A few more additions before transfer deadline are needed as the squad is lacking quality back up players. Watch this space for further transfers!!

RESULTS

EUROPA LEAGUE 4TH ROUND QUALIFIERS

1st Leg
2012-10-14_1548.png

Top quality performance, although the opposition wasn't world class. The match had it all, sendings off, goals and missed penalties!! Will take a lot for the Greeks to come back from this

2nd Leg
2012-10-14_1547.png

Napoli ease through to the group stages with a win, not the most convincing, but the positives was the huge amount of possesion and the way they contained the Greeks and dominated the ball.

First real test for new Manager Roberto Robinson and the Napoli team produce a ggod result against Sampdoria, although Robinson will be expecting them to win games like these. Not a bad start considering the players are still trying to gel.
