Stikers Scoring

I'm playing Man U with a 4-2-3-1 using AML and AMR. I've got the tactic to the point where I'm not conceding much. Most games are 2-0, or 1-1. My problem is the 1-1 games. My top scorer is Valencia with 5 (heading into December). Rooney has two, and RVP has 1. I've tried them as AFs and P, even a couple games as CFs, which were disastrous. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, they get closed down to quickly. I've got everyone set to max Through Balls, but it doesn't seem to matter, I can only score if my wingers run behind the line, or a midfielder hitting a long ball. Has anyone figured out how to get their strikers scoring?

Playing as Tottenham. Lennon is my top scorer.

Cavani gets about 3 one-on-one chances per game, but only scores one every 3 games or so. Even with his 18 finishing and 16 composure.

Don't know why, but one-on-one situations against the keeper the keeper mostly wins in this game. When your winger gets in at an angle however, they seem to score much more.
