Stoke City make a final offer to Tottenham for striker Peter Crouch and midfielder Wilson Palacios.

Would be a couple of very good signings in my opinion. Peter Crouch and Kenwyne Jones upfront could be a right handfull for most premier league teams.

Delap + Crouch, Jones, Huth, Shawcross, Begovic, Pulis, everyone = pwnage

Thought Stoke didn't want to break their wage cap of 40k or whatever? A combined wage of about 100k + what, 10m fee? But still, if they pull it off they have two very good players, Even more so with the way Stoke play their football!

If they get these 2 then they will be even harder to break down. A trip to the Britannia is already daunting enough

Christ, if these transfers happen, the team will certainly be more than capable of causing even more problems. They're physical as it is, have the ability to mix it up....have a feeling teams will not be relishing the trip to the Britannia. Or playing them at home.

They always own our defence every time we play them at the Britannia :(

The way they're strengthening their squad, I have a feeling they'll be causing all sorts of problems for all the teams. They'll have the perfect blend of strength, height, passing, set piece specialists and determination. They'll have an influence on the title race by the looks of it. Pullis is indeed a sensible man

2 good signings for stoke will give them better quality strength in depth not many teams will fancy playin them this seas!

So now they will have Crouch and Jones as targets for Pennant and Etherington's crosses. Combine that with their army of CB's add in Delap's long throw and they will cause even the best of teams problems.
Stoke for the Europa League. ;)

remember the bookie who paid out on stoke being relegated in 08-09 after they lost 4-0 to bolton on the first day !

Bet he feels a right daftie ;)

Why do Spurs want to sell Wilson? I rate him when he's fit, I would play him over Huddlestone. Must think that with Sandro/Huddlestone then Palacios is surplus to requirements...

We've all made bad signings on FM, and Pulis is just proving that it can happen in real life too XD. Crouch we all know is painful I don't think anyone is arguing, but Jamie, believe me Palacios is bad too. If you want Stoke, have them for free

Palcios lost his form after his brother died i think, was a shame hope he gets it back as he was a brilliant player who wenger reccomended to steve bruce when he was wigan manager

Both would be good signings for Stoke. Between Pennant/Etheringthon's crosses and Delap's long-throw, Crouch will get goals. As for Palacios, he is a really good player at what he does and he is good enough for Tottenham still but 'arry needs to sell to buy so Wilson is being sacrificed.

Sigh.

2 very good players if used properly. Personaly wouldn't sell Palacios for less that 10m, fantastic player and a fan favourite, just gone missing since his brother died. Think that he just needs a fresh start with an arm round his shoulder, added grit to our midfield when we needed him, but will be surplus should Diarra come in.

Of all of our strikers, I would rather keep Crouch surprisingly due to his threat in europe and for the fact that he has scored crucial goals when needed. Wouldb't sell him for less that 6m myself.

Rumours that the offer might be around 18m though, in which case, snap their hands off. Could finally have some money to strengthen our strike force and threaten it up.

Your problem is less to do with money, and more to do with the fact Redknapp is a mong, but if the 18m true, definitely worth it

Why would Stoke sign Palacios ? I know reason for Crouch, he's over 190cm, but why Palacios ?

Because he's a fantastic player that would drastically improve their midfield?

He hasn't been a good player since that business with his brother though, and since nothing has changed in that department, it's a risk that Stoke could do without IMO.
