Stoke City - General help/tips?

Hi fellow FM'ers

I have started a new save with Stoke City.

Who has played with them before? What tips and help can you give me in terms of tactics, signings, coaches etc

Etherington and Pennant given roles Winger - Support
Play a deep line

As for signings, try and invest in a full back and a centre midfielder. Try and get Romaric from Seville and Oscar Wendt from Copenhagen.

Jack has summed it up really, big Kenwyne Jones as a target man and Fuller/Walters alongside him, Etherington and Pennant wingers, could do with a CM who can create a bit, I signed Stephen McGinn in my first season; he's got good passing and creativity. A left back would be a good addition but Higginbotham played quite well for me at LB in my first season before I replaced him. Right back is another problem area. Shawcross and Huth centre halves, Shawcross is England captain on my Stoke game now (2014).

The backroom staff are pretty terrible, i'd look to get them replaced as soon as possible!
