Stopping opponents runs

The problem is the following: opponent players keep running into the box, and my defenders just kindly escort them. My question is, how to stop this?
Are there any instructions from tactics that are responsible for this?

I don't really have any suggestions as to how your tactics may do this, possibly you could try playing a centre-back as cover as he will slot in behind and clean up. Also, i found that marking players tightly that are quick with centre-backs that are slow is not a good idea at all, get left like Mertesacker chasing Messi.
