I am using a 4 4 2 diamond and cannot seem to get the roles right for the two strikers and the attacking midfielder. The strikers and Rhodes and Guidetti and the attacking midfielder is Brandt.

The Cms are both box to box.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

We'll need a little more than that, such as the team/division that you're playing in. Maybe the players just aren't good enough

What kind of football are you playing. If its a quick counter approach launching balls down the flanks, then the FCs should perhaps be more advanced and move into channels, maong room for the amc to get into the area. If you play a more probing possession approach, then having one FC drifting sideways and one dropping deep is a better idea, having an amc in a free role, etc etc

Oops I wrote more than this and it wouldn't post.

I'm newcastle, 4th season and in 2nd place in January. The formation is 4 4 2 tight diamond but with the full backs pushed forward. Most goals come from using the space in the wings. I used to use a target man but have not been able to make the tactic work for a season now. I won the league with this tactic 2 seasons ago. The passing is quick and mostly short, crossing early from deep and a mixed use of the pitch. I've tried various combinations of striker roles but I can't seem to get them both playing well together.

Cheers for help so far

I'd go with a TM(s) and P(a), set your fullbacks to wingbacks and the AMC as E(a). Also set the wingbacks to Cross aim target man and set the TM to hold position and the P to move into channels. Maybe set the E to make more direct passes.
