Crewe have completed the signing of Spanish defender Danial Ayala from Mantova.

193cm in Danial Ayala is Crewe's latest addition. Ayala, 22, has signed a three-year deal after joining the club for a 80k fee, and admitted that he cannot wait to start playing again in England. Ayala had also been co-owned by Sienna.

I have joined a great team who had a great season last year to qualify for the Championship, it is a dream for me. I prefer to play as a full-back, in the same position as Anthony Gerrard, but he is an important player so I will do my best to carve out my own place

Gillingham have signed Ashley Westwood from Crewe for $1.5k.

The youngster had been on the transfer list at The Alexandra Stadium and the club felt it was time to allow the 22 year old defensive midfielder to move on.

As he was entering the final year of his contract, we felt the offer was good for both the player and the club.

Burnley [A] - 0-0 Crewe had a number of attempts at goal but their profligacy meantthey didnt score as many as they maybe would have liked. Crewe also denied last minute penalty. Patrick Ada believed that the referee had missed a blatant foul by Steven Thompson in the box and that Crewe should have been awarded a penalty.

Swansea City [H] - 1-1 Following their poor run of form, it will indeed be ameasure of the club's character to determine whether they can uphold the standards they have set themselves.Striker Bauza equalised for Crewe after 67 minutes with a real poachers effort.

Doncaster [A] - 0-3 Crewe were on the end of desrved defeat at The Keepmoat Stadium as they were completely outplayed by the opponents.Ben Alnwick, Dudgeon and Zola were the main targets for fans criticism and there were some who stated that players such as Sean McDermott and Wes Fletcher should have been preferred in the starting line-up.

Ipwich Town [H] - 0-1 Crewe unlucky in defeat when Akpan missed penalty.Crewe had a number of attempts at goal but their profligacy meant they didnt score as many as they maybe would have liked.

Notts County [H] FA Cup - 2-0 A highly polished performance from the Crewe players saw their team run out 2-0 winners over Notts County at The Alexandra. Goals from Bauza and Somma. Ayala made his first appearance before being substituted in second half.

Leyton Orient [A] - 1-1 Striker Zola finally scores when equalised for Crewe after 61 minutes with powerful effort.

The Railwaymens recent performances may have been fairly poor but they still find themselves in the upper half of the table. For a team whom many felt would be battling against relegation this season, the campaign thus far has proved a great test of the club's resistance. For the transfer, Crewe bought Ayala from Maltova and sold Weswood to Gillingham. Crewe best player for this month is the capten, John Brayford.

Reading [A] - 0-1 The relegation candidates are on a run of ten games without a win.

Fulham [H] - 1-3 Crewe were unable to capitalise on their dominance as they fell to defeat in their FA Cup Fifth Round encounter with Fulham.

Plymouth [A] - 3-2 A brace from Kieran Agard helped Crewe to Victory. Bauza also manage to score with a powerful effort.

Huddersfield [H] - 3-3 Goals galore as Crewe and Huddersfield draw.Somma equalised for Crewe with a placed shot before Hewson and Agard scored to extend the lead further.

Having been tipped for relegation prior to the start of the season, Crewe have stunned the bookies by continually beating odds with 12th place. Kieran Agard named as a Crewe best player of the month. Kieran was absolutely outstanding with 5 goals for this month.

Leeds [A] - 3-2 Bauza, Gerard and Somma scored what proved to be the winner in goal

Preston [H] - 1-1 Midfielder Hope Akpan scored a powerful effort.

Wigan [A] - 1-2 The Railwaymens recent defeated run come to an end. Striker Somma got Crewe off to a flyer by scoring a powerful effort but it is not enough to win a game.

Peterborough [A] - 0-0 Crewe struggled to find a net

Norwich [H] - 0-0 Both team had a number of attempts at goal but the quality of finishing was poor througout

However Crewe captain,John Brayford named as Crewe best player of this month.John Brayford looked tidy and hardly put a foot wrong all game in this month.

Coventry [A] - 2-1 Brayford looked composed and combined some great defensive work with a wonderful assist. Striker Bauza and Agard scored wwhat proved to be the winner.

Crewe have paid out $275k to be shared among the squad on a pro-rata basis after finishing 10th in the Championship.

I think we have a squad for success, and our supporters deserve this. Last year we did have a good season. We didn't get promotion to the Premier League, but we still had a good season.

Kieran Agard - 9. Apart from getting injured at a rather inconvenient moment, he could do no wrong. Scored 16 goals and, at times, seemed more significant than that haul indicated. Led the line with bullish determination, sometimes without sufficient support, and became the talisman of the side.

Frederic Veseli - 9. Vaseli, a player very much in the mould of John Terry, is commanding in the air, an excellent tackler and a great organiser.

John Brayford - 9. With two assists and 2 Man of the matches indicating that he was adding another dimension to the side. The only one Crewe player was selected in Championship Selection of the year

Matt James - 8 . He has been crucial to Crewe's successful Championship campaign this season, providing some much needed bite to the Crewe midfield to become the ball winner

Anthony Gerrard - 8. Gerrard is quite simply top class. He have a great sense and ability to read the game

Ben Alnwick - 7.5. The English's importance to Crewe was probably best summed up by the farcical goalkeeping crisis that engulfed the club when he dislocated his shoulder with three games to go. Alnwick was almost faultless behind a defence that was anything but, and has been arguably the best signing.

Hope Akpan - 7.5. Arguably Crewe's most consistent central midfielder. A tough, no-frills character who helps provide a valuable anchor to a team over-laden with attacking talent.

Calvin Zola - 7. The great enigma managed some delightful touches

Joe Dudgeon - 7 . Solid performer and a popular player with Escriba who has made full use of the North Ireland's versatility. Never let his manager or teammates down.

Keith Southem - 7. The former Blackpool player has built a reputation at Crewe as a great passer and shooter and has fulfilled that promise this season.

Sam Hewson - 7 . Hewson spent the season anchoring the centre ground to give Bauza licence to use his creativity.

Guillem Bauza - 6.5 . He played some part in every Championship game of the season. That Bauza wasn't fully fit for much of the campaign is one of the many reasons for underachievement, but he should be exempted from the blame.

Davide Enrico Somma - 6.5 . He has always produced in bursts but not consistent

Sean McDermott 6 . Only one game not much to judge but he is a backup keepers

Daniel Ayala - 5 . Signed from Maltova as a leader who would bring experience and stability to Crewe's defence, but has looked vulnerable on too many occasions.

Wes Fletcher - 3.5 . Fast and elusive but its not enough to enter the first team

It was the long and difficult season but for next season i will do my best to bring Crewe to Premier League
