Started a new game as my favourite team. But instead of playing aimlessley, I have decided to set myself one goal to acheive before I leave the club. I am going to bring the team to the group stages of a European competition for the first time.

First competitive competition I had was the 'All-Ireland Cup' (Setanta Cup). I walked it, and beat Pat's 0-3 in the final.

Next up was the league. Pretty much walked that aswell. Only lost two games all season, one to ****** UCD. Had best defence and forward line.

This is the only screenie I have of the table, I had two games left.

On to Europe. UEFA Cup.

First round I had to make the long journey to Bratislava to face Artmedia. The team who beat Celtic in the CL qualifiers a few years ago. Written off by everybody. Again I don't have a screenshot, but I hockied them 5-1 on aggregate.

Next up were Swiss team Basel. Again I was written off, and to be honest I didn't think I had a chance either. At home for the first game I was unlucky to lose 3-2, my only signing Danny O'Connor scored an og. In Switzerland, I destroyed them but could only win 2-1, so I went out 4-4 on away goals. you think on the night before my brithday, they could've got one more goal. :(

I won Manager of the Year by nearly 500 points...

Miko Vilmunen got Keeper of the year, had 5 players in team of the year and Paul Keegan came runner up in Young Irish Player of the Year behind Aiden McGeady.

Champions League....good luck with that :D

If it goes well I think i might have a bash at something like this. Havn't played FM for a while.

I'm not that bothered...I'd easily accept UEFA Cup group stages. :D

Who is the best team in Ireland ?

You're auch a glory hunter. :p

We won the league last year, but (if you're wondering about FM) Cork have some good players like Farrelly, Healy and O'Flynn. Bohs ands St.Pats have a bit of money to spend. Galays a good challenge, capavle of challenging in the second season with a few signings.

Finished my second season.

Before the season started I was offered a 1 year contract extension which I successfully negotiated for a 2yr extension.

Brought in George O'Callaghan from Cork as my only signing.

I lost the Setanta Cup final on peno's. Went out of the FAI Cup on penos in the QF (?) and lost in the League Cup fairly early on aswell.

I won the league, only losing 1 game (my 4th last one, to Cork, 4-1)

Won MOTY again, with Vilmunen as KOTY too. O'Callaghan got best signing. Got a couple of players on TOTY.

European Competition

Started off in the First Qualification Rnd. of the CL, and was draw out of the hat against Cliftonville. A handy draw for me, I'd beaten them a couple of times in the Setanta Cup. I won 7-0 on aggregate.

Next up was MTK of Hungary, wasn;t really sure how that would go but I knocked them out 3-1 over two legs.

Into the 3rd Qualification Rnd. and I was drawn against...Celtic. I made a bit of a dogs bollocks of this and set out defensively at PArkhead but ended up losing 4-0.

As there was no point sitting back in the home leg, I went with my usual formation, and got a good result, beating them 1-0 at home.

After losing 4-1 on aggregate I dropped in the the UEFA Cup first round proper, and was handed a tough draw against Partizan Belgrade. I welcomed them to Drogheda for the first leg, optimistic that I could get some sort of result....I lost 3-0 with Jason ****** Gavin scoring an OG!

I soon faced the daunting trip to Belgrade, again setting out an attacking team, fully expecting to get tonked.

I got this news:

and just thought to myself, maybe there's hope.

Jesus, I couldn't believe my luck, I hockied 'em 4-0 on their own turf, even having a CB sent off in the 99th minute!

I was litreally running aorund my living room with my shirt pulled up over my head in celebration, it was fan-******-tastic!

I acheived my aim, and was only in my second season.

I was handed a tough group against Maccabi Haifa, AZ Alkmaar, Betis and Monaco. I started off with a home defeat to AZ, going down 2-3. Next up was a trip to Betis, again I lost, 5-2. Next up was what I thought would be the toughest game of the group, Monaco. But for some reason they came to United PArk with a defensive formation, and well...I'll just show you how it went...

I travelled to Israel knowing I could still qualify. But unfourtanetly the boys didn't get going at all and I went down 1-0, and finished botto of my group, a point behind Monaco.

I've since been linked with a number of clubs in England, but, despite acheieving my goal, I've been inspired to stay at Drogheda and fight to go further in the UEFA Cup, and one day get to the group stages of the CL.

sort of like my second season with Man U. Still won the league but you feel disapointed when you lose finals

good luck
