I think everyone finds a surprise player that always does well, even if you only put him in as a last resort at first...So I'm wondering, what is your surprise player?
Mine's (baring in mind, no one hardly ever does well for me...)
Leon Best
I play him Advanced Forward
I try to sign him If I'm a mid-table team

What's yours?
Thanks in advanced

For me it was Cidinho from Botafogo. I've never heard about him, but he was really good and very young

Leandro from Gremio, he is transferred to Real Madrid and my scout reports he has 4,5 stars. Never heard of him before

Leon Best also does alright for me, same with Shola Ameobi haha seems to score a fair few no matter what role u play him in.

Jose Reyes - he was transfer listed by Atl Madrid ...i bought him as the window was close to closing and i needed a winger/striker and this guy was the only one i could get in time ... i wasn't happy about it but i needed a back up then Rooney got injured and i reluctantly put him in hat trick on his debut lol

Vaclav Kadlec.

Always bought him as a backup to my backup players, but he did really well... And now I buy him in every save and always use him in my starting 11.

Mine would have to be James McCarthy.
Always buy him for about 5M at the end of the first season after a lot of admiring him.
After 2 seasons with me he averages a 7.5 rating playing as an advanced forward and is Gerrards natural sucessor.

Gotta be Joe McKee. Set piece machine. Cheap as after first season. Got him with spurs for 160K in the third season. Played him as a treq, finished the league with more IDFK goals, DFK goals, Corner goals and goals in general than any other side. Leading league for assists 7th for goals on 23 and best of all!! He's 21 and not even comfortable in his position yet. SIGN HIM

Mine is definitively Nathaniel Clyne. Got him from Crystal Palace for 800k in 2nd season, as my Birmingham City got promoted to PL.
Bought him as a backup for the backups, but ended up putting him on as a sub in almost every game. He can play both RB and LB, so whoever of my fullbacks underperformed or got tired, was substituted for mr. Clyne.
He's just one of those guys that never complains about not starting, and delivers a good performance everytime he's on the pitch (nevermind poor stats). Gotta love those guys :D

Adryan from Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. 16 years old - first not on top, but he's seek and take Gutierrez and Ben Arfa to the bench.

Korey Smith from Norwich, young and becomes a pretty good midfielder for a mid-table prem side

ATM in my save? Samir Carruthers.

Both my CM's got 2+ month injuries, so I loaned him from Feb to the end of the season. Ended up with 6 goals and 10 assists from 16 games. Kept my other CM's out, and I've reloaned him for the entirity of next season too.

(I'm Colwyn Bay, BTW)

Even Hovland - Signed for 700K just sold him to bayern for 7.5 mil. Beauty of a player strong aerial and good with his feet.

Jack Cork - I know he's a good player but he's cemented the England RB spot on my cardiff save and is constantly my number 1 RB as well as my Vice Captain. He actually plays RB better than his original (When i signed him) CM position.

leigh griffiths he is just amazing. probably the only worldclass finisher in the game fr under 1 million

I take back what I said about Carruthers, Gyliano Van Velzen has just surpassed him. £35k from United as a backup, 4 assists and 2 goals in 2 games.

Robert Lewondowski:

(He was a wonderkid back in the older FM days, we all used to buy him, he fell from the limelight after that until signing for Dortmund, he is playing well IRL as well which is great, first season with Dortmund)

Stewart Downing is always average for me, but on my newest save God ****...He has been an assist machine
