Hi all,

Just finished my second season in a multiplayer game, I'm Ipswich and got promoted through the playoffs.

I have a pretty good team (Griffiths, Wickham, Guarch, Romario, Broadfoot, Shaqiri, Lansbury, John Fleck as well as quite a few others with pretty good stats) but I have found now I am in the Premiership I am getting completely hammered every game. I know its going to be a lot harder and wasn't expecting to be easily safe from relegation, but I am having entire games and only 1 shot, whilst my opponent has 20+.

I play 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 and these formations were pretty successful in the Championship.

Does anybody have any advice for a newly promoted team into the Premier league? Would it be a good idea to play with 2 defensive midfielders and go defensive? My issue with that would be I am already creating virtually nothing, so this will proably make my goals tally even worse.

Any advice much appreciated

yeah, adopt a much more defensive approach, have you made any changes to your tactics you used last season? just remember, you were a big fish in a small pond back then.....

play narrow and slow, use defensive mids and 1 upront, set your Fullbacks to Support or even Defend and tell them to run with the ball less (if they are running with it) as this creates gaps out wide that better teams will exploit...

play a Rigid, Counter or Defensive philosophy and if you play with Wingers, ask them to do more defensively like Mark tightly and not to be all out attack...

this is where a lot of people come short, they get promoted, they think the same tactic is going to give them the same results as it did in the legue below, but end up getting relegated... you have to adpat, you need to know that you are s minnow and you have to play like one.....

..I just signed like 5 gens with good PA and I'm 8th? So going defensive ^ ftl, you'll score less and get relegated. Slow ftl, you'll get less chances in a game. I play rigid so I guess that kind of works...

Essentially tactics are tactics, don't change your tactics (imo) because your players aren't used to it. I did alter a thing, all my match prep bars are at maximum and I bought quality players that primarily speak English.

and I'm 8th. Prem isn't very hard on FM11 tbh, was a lot harder on FM10
