Has anyone come across a solid flat 4-4-2 tactic?

Something like Sean Dyche's Burnley/ Simeone's Atletico/ Valverde's Barca.

I've got a good working 4-4-2, and there plenty of solid decent 4-2-3-1's and 4-1-2-3's, but I'm yet to find that really amazingly solid flat 4-4-2.

Any help appreciated!

Try knap’s Midsomer Flat 442 on Counter.

Knaps Midsommer 442 but also "442 Date!", which I find extremely good.
