Hey, i'm new so sorry if this is in the wrong place or pointless...

I've been playing a game through with my local team Gillingham, and I'll admit, with 4 seasons past, I haven't been able to get pretty much anywhere (They're a pretty rubbish team, bad finances, I remember the third season they gave me a transfer budget of 0 and a wage budget 10k underneath what I was already paying my players, that wasn't fun...)

In the 4th season, i'd been doing the best I'd had with the club, 3rd in league 1 with about 10 games to go. The club had just been sucessfully taken over by a itallian guy and he wanted to sack me, but thanks to my players backing me up, he decided to keep me in management. Suddenly, a couple of games later with no warning I'm sacked with immediate effect and a new manager (One which the new chairman wanted to hire just after he took over) gets hired within a couple of days. I really can't understand why I was sacked, the finances were good, I was doing the best I had ever with the club (Admittedly the guy who did take over managed to end the league in 2nd and get promoted but I did all the hard work).

Sorry for the pointless rant, I just thought this was really unfair, I had no reason to be sacked and the new chairman guy lied to me :( does this happen a lot? I don't know too much about this kinda stuff really, never had a takeover before...

This happens a lot in real life too unfortunately -- there is no respect in football since the money men got involved :( I doubt we'll ever see another Sir Alex Ferguson scenario.

In terms of the game itself -- I've heard a few people mention this before and it does seem really unfair, especially when you've put a lot of time into your save. I think it does depend on your results / manager reputation at the time of take over as in my Liverpool save I was taken over, but remained in the job (by the skin of my teeth.)

Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. I've never been sacked after a takeover but that was probably because I had gotten a BSN team to the Championship and was a club legend by then, but then again put it this way if you were buying a team and the manager had gotten the team nowhere in half a decade wouldn't you change it then? Unfortunately that's the thing being ok isn't good enough you have to be a winner. No offense man, but that's how it works. Look at Rafa he wasn't a terrible manager he didn't have any money to work with he did an Ok job IMO overall not great but ok overall and he still got the boot.

I was really looking forward to getting promotion with the Gills too, not too much earlier in the season i'd been on a 13 match unbeated streak and won 5 games in a row, I'd picked up a few wonderkids on frees and brought in several pretty decent players, predicted 16th and ending 2nd, it's not bad whatsoever, I went back to the gillingham team after I'd got sacked and looked at the favoured personel for my first team, nearly every single one had me on there... Now i'm just looking for another club to run, I've applied for loads of teams and haven't gotten any, my manager stats must be really bad...

Try to get your rep up by applying for a u19/u21's/u23's or minnow country job like San Marino or something. The higher your rep the easier to get a job

Cheers, I'll try that next opportunity I get :) I see what you mean, 4 seasons and the only acheivement I can say I had to my name was getting to the final of the johnstones paint trophy once, not really much else...

I got taken over by a fans consortium after getting promoted after 3 Seasons with Cardiff City, The Chairman had loads of faith in me, even offered a 5 year contract

Did the fans like you? When I was Leeds and we got taken over, apparently I was going to get sacked, but in the end they were worried what affect it would have on the fans, because they thought I'd done an amazing job, all you have to do at that point is keep winning and/or performing well. And if it comes up in a press conference, refuse to answer

unlucky mate its happend to me but i was still in my first season so it didnt bother me but 4 seasons that must be annoying

I have got new chairmen threatening to replace me, but I have never actually been sacked...

I'm pretty sure the fans loved me, on the confidence thingy my job was very secure, something like 70%, I don't think I got sacked immediatly because of the players backing, but apparently that wasn't enough =/

Probably because of results then?

At the time of getting sacked I was 3rd in the league, 5 points behind 1st and I think the game before I got sacked it was a draw away from home. The chairman said as soon as he took over the club it was his plan all along to replace the manager, but because of the players backing, he said to me that he'd let me stay because the players had faith in me, 5 or so matches later, sacked...

Its probably down to the stubbornness of the chairman then. Chairmen behaviour can vary from game to game, especially created ones.
