Used my tactic that I shared here with San Jose. Won the league, got to the East vs West final but lost. Got beat in first round of Cup however. But all in all a massive achievement with one of the lesser clubs.

Squad registration is complicated, but you will soon work it out, and don't put any players on the disabled list! Also I think teams are a little more even than most European leagues. This save was online with my friends and we were San Jose, Houston and Colardo (all not great) and I got first Houston second and Colarado 7th. So two out of 3 over achieved 1 did OK
