Hey guys

I have been having a problem with my strikers scoring. I'm Man Utd and in my second season. I reckon I'm not creating enough chances for them to put the ball into the back of the net.

Atm I'm playing a patient possession based tactic and decided to adopt a more direct alternative to use for half a season at least.

What team instructions should I been using.

Thanks for any advice

take some screens of your tactics etc see what your doing, can offer better advice then ahah ;)

My initial idea was to keep possession but having a decent tempo as well.

The last team instruction was play out of defence. I haven't added any player instructions as it would have got abit too complicated for me

If your wingers are shooting more often than you want, use separate instructions for them to 'shoot less often' and 'dribble more'. Being a Red devils fan myself, I have to say we use wingers to exploit every inch of grass on the wings. Under team instructions, add 'exploit the flanks' to accomplish this. The most important thing you want is to use your strikers, I guess. For this, try changing him to a 'TARGET MAN'. This will make your wingers and the AP to supply the stiker more often.

Do not play out of defense in a possession based tactic, because your defenders will have too much of the ball. You do not create enough because you have everybody short passing. Chose 2 from your 3 mids to give direct passes. I d say keep the DLP with short passing. The ball winning mid and AM with direct - you can even instruct the AM for risky passes. If you are playing wide with short passes a lot of them will be interrupted. So consider sticking to a normal shape.

If no chances are created - consider just to take a breather for 10 mins of the game. Once you have a good possession - you can widen the formation and approach for more direct passes without retaining possession.

Be careful with the wings - too many crosses is not good, too many shots neither. Try to teach them to look for pass rather than a shot. Use them mainly to stretch the def.

thanks for the advice guys, i've decided to try getting rid of the play out of defense and instead use exploit the flanks,

i'm also going to use insanity's advice regarding the passing range.
