Team/player instructions help

I have created a tactic where pretty much all my player instructions are changed from default.

If I use shouts does it change the player instructions?

For example, if I have instructed all my players to play through balls alot then instruct the team to "retain possession" would this alter all my players individual instructions and make them less likely to play through balls? Or, do I have to do it all individually?

If you have manually changed any setting, that setting will NOT be effected by a shout ( small changes to a group of players/different settings). Therefor, its important to know exactly what the shouts do.
