Teramo Calcio - known as Il Diavolo (the devil) and Biancorossi (white-reds) - is an Italian football club, founded in the Abruzzo region in 1913. After a long stint in the Serie C1, the third highest tier in Italian football, things started to decline rapidly in recent years

In the 2006/2007 season, the team was forced into the relegation play-offs and were subsequently relegated to the Serie C2. Despite a mid table finish the following season, the team was forced to declare bankruptcy.

The following year, the team was re-founded and placed in the seventh tier of Italian football, the Promozione - Abruzzo - Girone B.

After gaining immediate promotion in their inaugural season, the team is currently playing in the Eccellenza Abruzzo.

Stadio Communale - Terramo

Despite being only an amateur club, the stint in the higher (and professional) tiers of Italian football have left the team with a good set of facilities, a small youth academy and a sizable home ground, the Stadio Communale.

Media predictions for the coming season see the team finishing third in the league, but with only weeks until the current season kicks-off, the backroom remains empty.

And that is where I entered the picture.
To introduce myself, my name is Micky Pain.
Born to a Canadian Father and an Italian mother, I enjoyed a footballing career with many ups and down, the most recent ones being some Caps I earned for the Canadian team, before a chronic ligament condition ended my playing days.

By sheer accident it was that I traveled to Italy to visit some of my mother's sides relatives in Teramo.
The little bit of fame that I accumulated during my playing days must have reached the board of the club, as they invited me to watch a training session under the guise of asking for my professional advice on the squad strength.

To cut a long story short, after some nights of delicious Italian food and wine, I was somehow swayed to agree to take the manager position of Teramo Calcio for one season.

My Italian adventure is about to begin.

Alright, as some of you might be aware (or even following?), I currently have a SpVgg Bayreuth story running on here as well.
I'm not abandoning that one, not by a long shot, but after getting that little team so far already I am starting to miss some of the challenges I faced on the way up. I didn't want to resign from the club I helped build, so I rather start a new save (and story).
Having never played an Italian team before, and with my new-found fondness of lower league management mixed with a bit of a sweet spot for fallen-from-grace teams, I found this team in a custom database.
Some lower-league experts might snicker, but tier 6 is the lowest I've ever been, so this one will be quite a challenge, and hopefully a fun one.

For now I just want to post the introduction and start posting the first updates this coming weekend. I will put up a poll to see if people are interested, so in the meantime I would ask you guys to just vote and/or like this post if this is something you would be interested in following.
Thanks,

Micky

good luck mate, i like these sort of challenges (as far as I'm aware my Campinense have had a few) and the layout already looks good. I'm following.

Oh and by the way, when I try and edit the size of my signature it says BB code too big. How did you get yours bigger?

Good luck. I wanted to manage Formia in the Eccellenza but the database was too big. Aren't there something like 26 regional divisions?

Yeah, there's an insane amount of teams on the way to the Serie A.
I actually made the mistake to watch the cup draw just now - 400 + teams to watch.
Anyway, since it's a fairly broad pyramid at the base where I start, the chances to advance are quite good (as opposed to my Germany save where only the first team got promoted in thew lower leagues).

I hope this turns out alright, since I loaded an insane number of leagues and players, so fingers crossed that it remains playable.

:D
great to see you start a new challenge.
I personally love the german leagues that's why I followed yours, and it will be interesting to learn about the italian ones now :) hopefully this can become a legendary story as well :)

Alright, here's the deal:
I played the first season, mainly to see if it's fun enough to make a full story out of it, and to see if the game is still playable with the amount of players and leagues I loaded.
So far, on both accounts, it's a big YES, I won the league with a large margin and got promoted, but now the problems with the custom database I used start to show.
In essence, although I have a reserve and a youth squad, for the second season now they aren't playing any matches. So it's rather pointless to continue the current save. I'm looking for a working DB now, but I'm not sure if i can be arsed to replay the first season right away.
I think it's fun enough to make a story out of this, but I need some time now to bang my head against some flat surface.
