Rookie Reynolds Reigns Top Dog

For his first job in football, Reynolds has been tasked with keeping Huddersfield in the division yet the chairman is seeking for a lower to mid table finish. For a team that has just gained promotion the objectives set by the chairman could lead to a tough season, they being:
Play attacking football,
Sign young players for the first team.

With the second of them objective in mind, Reynolds sets his scouts around the country to find some young talent to bring into this team, a few targets floating about include Luke Freeman from Stevenage and Max Clayton from Crewe, but we will have to see what is possible to bring into the club.

First game of the pre season for Huddersfield, a gentle run out of first team Vs reserve team just to ease all players back into the run of things. Whilst Reynolds is out looking for transfer targets he has left the running of all the pre season friendlies to his Assistant Manager. The first result was a 2-0 win over the reserves, with James Vaughan and Sean Scannell both picking up a goal a piece. A man of the match performance was put in by left back Paul Dixon.

Capital One Cup Draw:
Away Vs Rochdale.

Friendly number 2:
Away Vs Carlisle:
Lost 2-1 - After a positive first half, taking the lead through Lee Novak the team fell apart in the second half. Also Anthony Gerrard and Oscar Gobern both suffered injuries, out for 8 days and 2 months respectively.

First transfer out of the club:
Liam Ridehalgh to Crewe £200k - seen as surplus to the team with no likely chance of first team football with Paul Dixon and Callum Woods both above him in the pecking line for left back.

Another injury blow, Sean Scannell suffered an injury in a training session ruling himself out for 4 weeks. That's the third first team injury suffered in the space of a couple of weeks.

Transfer out:
Peter Clarke - Leicester £675k - Although considered a first team player at the age of 30 he doesn't fit in with the youthful set up that is being introduced to the club. A big move by the rookie manager, we shall have to see if this pays off.
Murray Wallace - Millwall £150k - Not considered a first team player and felt the funds could be used else where.
Ian Bennett - Crewe £20k - Not going to challenge Smithies.

Transfers in:
Luke Murphy - Midfield - Crewe - £850k - 22 year old enthusiastic midfielder brought in to liven up the midfield, and having come through the Crewe academy he has great potential.
Luke Freeman - Striker/Attacking midfield - Stevenage - £2.6 million - 20 year old - Bright future, versatile as can play up top of on the left wing.
Harry Davis - Defender - Crewe - £975k - 20 year old - Replacement for Peter Clarke.
Scott Wootton - Defender - Man Utd - £500k - Versatile as can play midfield or defence.
