I love youth Development. It's a huge part of why I play Football Manager.
While I'm hard at work making updates for Liverpool: the 5 Year Plan, I
decided to give myself another save with 0% responsibility; it purely exists
as a youth development save. I decided to write a story about this since it's
something completely different from anything I've seen on the forum.

And so without any further ado, I give you:

The Academy

How the save works:


I've replaced the Irish League with The Nike Academy League.

3 teams compete in the League:
The Nike Academy as well as it's 2nd team and the 3rd Teams.
I can only sign players under 20 years of age.

Attempt to recreate The Chance by signing released players on trial
and offering contracts to the best performing players.

Arrange friendlies against the best youth teams in World Football to
showcase the youth players in our academy.



But the Number One goal of this save is to sign young players who've been
released, develop them and help reintegrate them into professional football.
The success of this save will judged on how many players I manage to get
back into the profession game and find them regular first team football.

Cheers guys. I just thought it'd be a bit of fun. it's kinde amusing how I'm hoping to sell players rather than hold onto them. Keeping a constant turnover of players and not having certain key players can only help me get better tactically and play around with formations and shapes, ect.

Actually can't wait! Want to binge read through such a thing but I can keep up as it progresses, I guess! Still have to binge my way through the 5 year plan!

Cheers mate. You've about 40 pages worth of the Liverpool story to sift through at this stage :p
Glad to know you're interested in this save. It's mainly just something to keep me entertained and give me a break from Top flight competitive football with Liverpool.

The Nike Academy is based at the English FA's National Football Center in St.Georges Park in
Burton on Trent. Boasting some of the best facilities in the world, the youth players lucky enough
to win a contract with the club through The Chance will be working with some of the best coaches
in the world. We are committed to taking the best who didn't quite make it, giving them a 2nd chance.

Very interesting concept! Cant wait to see how this goes and see who becomes a big major star!
 
Most of those players seem over 20 and Irish, how does that affect your transfer plans?
