US Manager Resigns

21/01/2009

United States Soccer team Manager Bob Bradley resigned today after suffering a minor stroke, the 51 year old ex Chicago Manager was taken into care last night after the Bradley family spokesman announced he was unable to continue as Manager. Bradley is also father of US Star Michael Bradley who has been allowed time off by his European club to visit his father.

The United States football association announced they were shocked by the news and wish Mr Bradley a speedy recovery. It is likely that Bradley's assistant Jason Perveek will be in charge of the first four fixtures against Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador and Costa Rica. Perveek is a Dutch born American who forged a career as an Amateur soccer player in California when he moved to the U.S at the age of 19. He later became player Manager of Ventura County Fusion in which he had a successful six year spell. In 2001, he joined Bradley as a coach at D.C United before becoming Bradley's assistant at Metro Stars. Perveek is held in high regard through American soccer and is the likely to succeed Mr Bradley altogether.

U.S.A got off to a nightmare start start as they slipped to defeat on home soil against a ruthless Mexico side. Luis Ernesto Perez gave the Mexicans the lead with a 25 yard strike which beat keeper Tim Howard. U.S.A were then restricted to ten men after Jermaine Jones went off injured. Perveek had already made three substitution. The lacklustre U.S.A side were finished off after Castillo fired home after a scramble in the box to confirm the Mexican win.

Jason Perveek on ESPN said:
I am pleased with our victory today, we really struggled against Mexico back in Febuary so I was pleased to get three points on the board. This is a small step on the road to qualifying but I feel it is the start of something great.

I'd also like to thanks Michael Bradley for his two goals today, he has really answered his critics today. When Bob was Manager, many people suggested that Michael Bradley was only picked because his Father managed the side, I can tell you now, Michael Bradley is a fantastic and 100% committed to the national team. Now we must prepare for the game against Trinidad and Tobago back in the U.S

good start mate, i'm following.
there seem to be a lot of international stories starting now

I'll follow this :)

Nice to see a new country being managed, I've been the USA before and it's good fun. One tip though is to avoid complacency against the weaker teams. I found telling them 'I expect a win' worked well against weak teams, but who knows...
Also what tactics are you using? I found a 4-5-1 with advanced wingers suited the players quite well, but I'd be interested to know what you're using.

Good luck!

Good luck man this is great so far! Just one question, are you playing as Jason Perveek or are u yet to come into the story? Cheers

Brian McBride on CNN Sports said:
The U.S.A played a great game today, I was at he match, I thought that Boswell proved what a great player he was and I believe he will be key to the national team in the coming weeks. I hope the the National selectors appoint Perveek because he has shown great resilience to come back after the result against Mexico. This has shown us a platform to what looks like a solid and succesful qualifying phrase.

U.S.A next fixture is against Costa Rica on the 03/06/2009.

Do you have Michael Bradley set to use longshots? Good luck with this.

No should, I see he has long shots 14, I have him long shot rarely because long distance shots just **** me off, I might change though.
