The Arrival Of New York City

- He Cant Stop Scoring - League Results - US Cup 4th Round -

This game i knew from the beginning was always going to be a difficult one for the team as we were sitting down in the depths of the league where as Houston were sitting comfortably in 1st place. Houston took the lead after 11 minutes through Sheanon Williams and that was all she wrote and the game finished 1-0 to the visitors. I felt like judging by the stats and player performances we could have perhaps got a draw out of it but it just wasnt meant to be. Mix Diskerud also got MOTM with a 9.0 rating.

This is our third game against Philadelphia already this season and what a display we put on today. It all started with a early goal from our centre back Jefferson Mena who scored a half volley inside the box would you believe. We then went 2-0 up thanks to a David Villa goal. At this point i thought we were going to win 3 or 4 to nil but that just wasnt the case with Chris Pontius grabbing a goal soon after. Important result after a couple of games without a win.

Going into this game i was confident of a result, although they had the likes of Didier Drogba (ex Champions League winner for Chelsea) and Marco Donadel (ex Napoli and Milan player), they were sitting in mid table. The game went of to a fairly poor start with no real opportunities in the first half, it was only the second half were the game really came alive. Just after the break 46th minute to be exact David Villa pounces on a rebound to make it 1-0. Shortly after in the 52nd minute Callum Mallace their holding midfielder breaks away and makes it 1-1. It wasnt the win we were after but it was a well deserved point nonetheless.

US CUP 4TH ROUND

For this game i decided to rest a lot of first team players such as Jefferson Mena, Tim Melia and Andrea Pirlo to give players such as Josh Saunders, Ethan White and Khiry Shelton some game time. The game was wrapped up by 2 first half goals from who else but David Villa who makes it 4 goals in 4 games, who at times this season has won games on himself and this was one of those games. So in our first game ever being involved in the US Cup we get of to a very comfortable victory which should give the lads some confidence going into our upcoming games. :)

Game 16 of the MLS season and we face a very solid Toronto team with the likes of ex- Juventus forward Sebastian Giovinco, Michael Bradley with well over 100 caps for the USA and Jozy Altidore. Although they were sitting in 17th i knew that this was going to be a tight fought match. The match kicks off with David Villa yet again getting on the score-sheet in the 6th minute with a beautifully worked goal shortly followed by another goal from who else but David Villa. 2-0 up and we were cruising until we give away that well fought lead to Altidore and Giovinco goals. All is not lost as 2 minutes after Giovincos goal, Kwadwo Poku pops up with the vital goal that gives us the lead and wins us the match. Well deserved.

ITS TIME!!! The Hudson derby is here and what a turn out it was i have to say with 30,400 fans turning up to watch this battle. It all starts with a David Villa penalty in the first 4 minutes which was coolly slotted away, followed by a Jason Hernandez header, who i have to say has really impressed me in the last 4-5 games. Just before half time Bradley Wright Phillips gets a goal with a nice finish. The closing stages came and i was on the edge of my seat praying we could hold out and the 90th minute came and there was a highlight... i genuinely thought Toronto were going to get a second and we were going to give away a 2 goal lead but we didn't, Bradley Wright Phillips scores his second goal of the match unfortunately for him it was at the wrong end and he gives us all 3 points. We have also broken a new NYC record which is always nice.

Its cup day and this is a Competition i really want to win as the winner gets a place in the North American Champions League which is where i would at this point in time only dream to be next season. Anyway back to the game after a very poor display from both teams in the first half the second half is where it really gets interesting. it all starts with a Columbus Goal from Kei Kamara in the 65th minute. We weren't at our best today i have to admit and probably didn't deserve whats about to come next. The 80th minute rolls around and BOOM David Villa keeps our form in the US Cup and our Champions League dream alive. And what would you know we score again in the 90th minute thanks to Mix Diskerud to send us through to the Quarters where we will face Houston at the Yankee Stadium.

Still buzzing after that win in the cup vs Columbus we face Montreal Impact at their place. Coming into this i was very confident in getting a result because of our 6 game unbeaten streak but that was to all come to an end. After nothing happening in the first half and most of the second half Victor Cabrera puts Montreal in the lead in the 78th minute and that was it, a very poor performance all round from the lads but we can only move on and improve where we went wrong.

After not winning in our first 8 games i would have to say 7th position is not bad at all. With only 3 losses in 10 games it sees us climb into a much healthier position and hopefully we can push on from here and maybe shoot for top 6 which would see us qualify for the Wild Card.

Looks like it could be potentially coming together now.

RUBBISH !!!
After 8 games without a win the board have decided to give me the sack.
i cant say it wasnt coming because it was we just could not get the tactics right or get the players playing like a team.
Although we did have a great spell mid way through the season it just wasnt meant to be.
I wish NYCFC all the best in the future because they're going to need it.
I have to say it was fun while it lasted but i will be looking to start a new save.
With who im not sure.
reply with some teams you would like me to be next it would be greatly appreciated :)
