I heard someone (possibly Edith Bowman?) talking about him not too long ago, I think it was at an end of season charity function. She said he was the most polite man she'd ever met, a real gentleman. I think the egotistical comments get blown way out of proportion.

Very much doubt it. Young Guns is correct 99% of the time and not the first time Lansbury has denied something - he said he wasn't injured a week or two ago, then didn't play for an AFC XI without explanation. Maybe he's just been told not to say anything yet...

I dont want Rubin due to Russia not being easy and getting beat in shacktar and braga last year and Udinese also slighty worry me.

Lansbury has been included in the Arsenal first team's official photocall. Bartley is in there, too (but acc. to YGB he's "100%" going on loan) as well as Afobe, Jenkinson and Frimpong.

Cesc even manages a smile in his photo - although he looks more and more Spanish by the day, and The Times provide us with a nice gloomy picture of him here:

I would now be astonished if we don't sign another CB. Wenger said he wants one, and even if it's a deadline day deal, I think it will happen. He's (surely) not naive enough to continue with the 4 we had last season with Djourou out of form and confidence and Squillaci still... well... Squillaci.
