So much for the supposed 4M and Denilson, now it's 12. IMO that's too much. he's a talented player but that's about 6M too much. That being said, would be nice to be rid of Denilson.

Been brilliant in what is a very two-sided Ukrainian league. Other than the top two, Dnipro and the Ukrainian Arsenal, there really isn't that much else in the way of competition, to be good against those types of teams, even Denilson would find it easy. I agree though, he is a good player with fantastic technique. Granted, I would be in the passenger seat giving you directions to take you there with him in the boot if 6M got knocked off.
Doubt we'll do a deal if that's true. Ridiculous price-tag for a player who hasn't consistently proved himself outside of the Ukranian 1st Division. Doubt it is true, though - TalkSHITE radio and all.
I'm just saying. Young Guns said Milosevic deal didn't look likely, and Barca, Spurs, Inter are all in for Damiao - price will soar, we won't get into a bidding war we can't and don't need to win.
This is very true, but with the reported 50M in the transfer kitty, surely he has to spend some of that? Granted, I doubt he will spend it all, but if he spends next to nothing, i think he will get a grilling from us as fans?

Of course we'll spend some of it. But we don't need a striker IMO, and at 20-30M, we certainly don't need an unproven striker in high-demand. I'm just saying.
EDIT: And the £50M quoted budget isn't just for transfers. Have to bear in mind wages too.
Agreed, but IMO we do need another striker. A "poacher" as you would say. I understand where your coming from on the Damiao front. Granted, I agree, he is not what we need. I would much prefer an 25-30 year old striker with experience and an eye for goal. But, beggars can't be choosers with a market so active as it is this year. Any half-decent player we go for will attract interest from another club, it will be difficult not to get into a price war, just hopefully not with the likes of ManC, Madrid, Chelsea Etc. Minus the wages leaves 40Mish? Add on the sale of fringe players, I think 50M is realistic. I still don't think Samba/Cahill is what we need, but never mind.
I rate him quite highly. There's a risk of him flopping, there always is, but for that price I'd take it any day. And to be honest I don't think Denilson adds more than 2-3m pounds to the deal, so I'd say 15m for Willian is far from being a bad deal.
Robin van Persie scored 21 goals this season. In half a season. Do we need ANOTHER striker? No. Not for me. Plus we have Vela, and Afobe - the latter obviously not ready, but good enough to come off the bench at times IMO and the former certainly ready and looked good on loan.

I also rate him too. I agree, Denilson adds a maximum of 5M onto the deal, 3M is fair IMO. But 15M for a player that plays in a very uncompetitive Ukranian league is a little too much. 7M + Denilson and I would take him to Ukraine myself with you.

Granted, but with RVP's injury record. 21 goals in half a season may be all well and good, but playing for half a season isn't good enough. Vela isn't good enough for an Arsenal back-up IMO. I personally don't think he will make it big at Arsenal. We need a new dimension to our game, a good poacher as a potential second striker would really add to Arsenal's depth. I wouldn't mind if Walcott was pushed further up, however I don't think he quite has the eye for goal after playing so much on the wing, time will tell. I'm not talking Falcoa/Benzema quality, just some-one who can come on and do a job on the scoring-front.
I see where the desire for a poacher is coming from. I stand by what I said, but of course you're entitled to your understandable and realistic opinions!
Completely disagree that Walcott doesn't have an eye for goal, though. He's an excellent finisher.
