If doesn't matter if it was his PR man or him they talked a lot of sense. It is clear we need investment otherwise we will just be moving backwards.

Well it does. Because he's telling us what we want to hear without actually knowing what that is. Fairly simple, really - he's a major shareholder, throws a hissy fit because the Arsenal board don't like him and neither do the fans and tries to get us onside by appointing a PR man to read the papers and say something about investment and blah blah blah.

Alisher Usmanov is a cancer to football. He, like so many other foreign owners, would simply put us in debt by spending more money than we have and need to. Kroenke is better than Usmanov, though I'd much rather have what we had before (not actually possible any more it seems). Usmanov would ruin our self-sustaining financial model. Buying expensive or established players wouldn't necessarily guarantee success anyway.

We need Usmanov to be respected by the Arsenal board, though. He's the king-maker now - if he sells to Kroenke, then SK can get 100% ownership of the club. At 60%, he can't yet do that.

Another Great Video

I am not saying Usmanov needs to buy the club its just a shame that Kroenke doesn't have the same ideas. This is his chance to make himself liked by the fans, Wenger supposedly has 30million to spend. In stead of giving him more more to spend on players increase the wage budget sightly just so the full 30 mil can be spent on transfers. I personally think we only need to lose the dead wood get in a Hernandez type striker, a center back and cover for song. If we can do that and keep hold of Fabregas which we probably will as well as nasri. Then i can see us wining something.

Surely the sales of denilson, bendtner, rosicky and squallich with generate at least 20mil? put all that money in to the salary fund and spend the 30mil on those three players.

If we have any left over great get in an attacking mid.

In the last 7 years me and my dad have had season tickets at arsenal that roughly comes up to £20,000. I have had a great time don't get me wrong and i fully support the idea of the club but at the moment all i am seeing is us finally about to win something with a few adjustments, or we don't take a risk and end up becoming a poor side.

For me this is the make or break season for arsenal if i don't see a trophy goodbye season ticket which is what a lot of us long serving ticket holders feel.

1. Clearly the work of a PR man, rather than Usmanov himself.

2. MUCH rather have Kroenke than Usmanov. Alisher Usmanov doesn't know what he's doing and he'll simply plunge the club into further debt. Like the Glazers have done, like Abramovich has done.

yes I am pretty sure he became a billionaire by not knowing what he was doing

just been watching lots of old clips and vids of the anfeild '89 title win and what a night to have been an arsenal fan !! no doubt the greatest moment in our clubs history

Hmm.

Going a season unbeaten is up there.

"Here's Thomas.. Racing through the midfield... THOMAAAS! IT'S UP FOR GRABS NOW! THOMAAS! RIGHT AT THE END!"

would have been great that night being a arsenal fan eh

Another great bit of commentary was when Adams scored that volley against Everton (I think). We battered them, but it was such an unusual goal for a CB to score..

"Here's Adams... Put through by Bould... WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT!.... THAT sums it all up".

And, of course:

"Arshaaaaaaaviiiiiiiiiiiiinn" (<3 Martin Tyler)

No.

The Arshavin one from when we became the only team outside of Spain to beat Barcelona over 90 minutes. You know - that feat that Manchester United couldn't achieve?

One of the best Arsenal goals IMO. Scored by a true legend.

Talking of which - Vieira's last ever kick of the ball in an Arsenal shirt:
