i'm pretty sure we cant win anything in 2011 which is 6 years since 2005
we can win something in 2012 which will be 7 years since 2005
so it it will be 7 years since we last won a cup

Er. Yes, just about. Except it won't be, because we won the FA Cup at the end of the 2005 season so it will be 6 1/2 seasons when we kick off in August. But we'll win something in February, so all's good.

No they haven't. They won a European Cup in 1982, and the SuperCup the year after. I wouldn't call the 'Intertoto Cup' a REAL tournament. By that logic, our Emirates Cup wins count as significant European trophies.
We've won a Cup Winners' Cup (1994, plus two finals in 1980 and 2005), an Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (1970) and been runners up in the UEFA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and Supercup.
