You are right.. Few or many wont be convinced by that blog.. Saying that I never criticized Wenger and never will in the near future. Like I said I dont buy those 10 year plans but the work he has done is superb.

To clarify, do you mean blog, or article? I can see why people might disagree with the principle of the article, although I obviously do and feel that it's well-written etc. But the majority (and there has been a lot of readers of that article) have been positive about it and appreciated that someone has explained the philosophy of the club.

EDIT: But I'm not sure what there is to not like, or not be convinced by about simple tactical analysis and the occasional editorial and discussion piece - the essence of the blog.

Kicker are hardly a tabloid and the journalist hasn't made it up. The way the piece is written suggests to me the quotes are recent. Just my opinion, it seems weird but the context suggests to me it's recent.

I didn't say he made them up. The general consensus seems to be that the quotes are outdated, especially since we haven't actually been linked with Mertesacker this summer, and because he and Gazidis have both said they're looking to bring another defender in.

Err Article.. Well the author has put lot of effort to write it, i do really appreciate his effort but just that I'm not convinced about "Is that the Wenger plan".

Anyways Joss, its really a good read for Arsenal fans, but I dont think all the rivals will be convinced by that, me included..

That's fine! Don't expect everyone to like everything we post - good to have an actual discussion about it and why you're not convinced by it rather than the usual "WEnga sukcz - we shud go bak to four4too"

No its not about liking you posted.. I said I liked the effort the author has put in to write the whole article.. Just that not everyone will be convinced..

Author really made very interesting observations, but my point/doubt is, Is that really Wenger's plans or people are drawing conclusion based on whom you signed..

is Newcaslte bid confirmed for Nick Ben.

yeah. happy days.!!!!

Well that made no sense.

Yeah, that's what I meant ;)

They're conclusions from Wenger's transfer activity, but we like to think it's a pretty solid conclusion. The author has read his biography, seen quotes, and studied our transfer history in detail.

Fair enough.. One thing is for sure and I admire about Wenger is that he is laying a solid foundation for the future and also for his successor just like SAF has done.. No wonder they are the top2 managers in the PL era.. ;)

I was thinking today that SAF's best attribute is his squad management, including a ridiculous ability to know exactly when a squad needs re-building and how to go about that. He clearly identifies potential transfer targets mid-season so come the end of the season, he knows who he needs and can do his business quickly.

I guess it comes with his massive experience.

Exactly. Even when we win the league he wont miss the opportunity to freshen up the squad with one or two signings and keep the momentum going..

Lost count of number of teams he has built..

SAF and wenger have one thing in common, giving youth a chance and buying young players.. But one thing where I rate SAF higher is he keeps old heads till the younger ones are ready to take the mantle, which IMO wenger was not able to.. Few experienced players left touch too early IMO..

Well they all wanted to leave themselves not wenger's idea. The only one that wenger let leave was Pires who i think he left a season or two early :)

Pires was ****** off for taking him off after 20 mins in champions league final.Thats the reason why he left isn't it.

SSN ''Arsene Wenger says Cesc Fabregas' future to be decided shortly''

If he does go why couldn't we strike up a deal at the start of the window and give us a good amount of time to find a good replacement. If he does go and we buy someone else there not going to have had the adavantage of pre season frendlies with Arsenal to help blend into the squad! Well if he does leave Arsenal I think its fair to say hes one of Arsenals greats, and no one can blame him for leaving to his boyhood club.

The issue is Barcelona. Arsenal had a price, Barca repeatedly made offers that came nowhere near it

Yeah but I think they know Cesc has the desire to move the Nou Camp and therefore hoped they could get him for a reduced price, and Arsenal didnt share this point of view. When the deal goes through I'd imagine the deal will be closer to the 40 Million Mark then 30. Whatever happens it needs to be resolved quickly to avoid this unsettling the whole squad.

Thats why it has taken so long, they effective tried to cajole Arsenal in to taking a lower fee. Wenger stood firm and rightly so

I heard they once made a bid of £20 million. First there players show no respect, and then they insult us in the board room. Of all the things to admire about that club, I hate the way they handle all there transfers.

I'm just so bummed about the idea of selling Nasri... He finally had his blow-out year and now he wants to leave ?
