Well I'm not sure the Jadson story was ever real. Seemed odd to go for him in response to losing Cesc...

He didn't deny talks for Mata, so presumably he's been trying to do a deal for him and has now pulled out for one reason or another (Could he be doing a SAF?).

And in response to "What the **** has he been doing?" --> Looking for a CB? We sent scouts to watch a Moscow CB I think, though his name escapes me. Important to remember that Arsenal do as much in private as possible - if things are released early, like we saw with Liverpool to an extent, then teams simply hike up the price and other clubs become interested.

Apparently we could force Barca to give us more money by the way - they (or their players) broke a clause in the deal that said they couldn't talk about it before it was 100% done and confirmed. We could cancel the deal completely - obviously we won't, but it's pretty embarrassing for Barcelona who now have to back-track and say the deal isn't done. Ah the irony.

This is according to Catalan Conspiracy...

After today's blunder, Barcelona are in panic mode trying to hush the leak, as there was a non-disclosure agreement between the clubs.

Fabregas told his friends at Barcelona, who then leaked the transfer through their Twitter feeds.

Arsenal will now assess the situation and decide on whether or not to cancel the deal, which is unlikely. Fabregas will get his transfer.

There might penalty fees in the deal for breaking the NDA clause, could mean Barcelona will have to pay more.

As @cyhmk points out, most probable cause for a NDA is that Arsenal were looking for a replacement player, without having to pay over value.

Barca now fear that Arsenal will use the NDA clause to void the Fabregas transfer, which has already been agreed between the clubs.

**** off lol

There are more than enough centre backs available.

I hope he brings on AOC.

Miyaichi's back in Japan getting a permanent visa. He won't play vs Udinese either.

Wenger says no, but Wenger says a lot of things.

true. managerial lies. hopefully we get mata or at least someone by deadline day.

LIne ups in

Team in full: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Ramsey, Song, Rosicky :P, Arshavin, Gervinho, Van Persie (C)

Subs: Fabianski, Chamakh, Djourou, Frimpong, Jenkinson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott

Ignoring that incident for a moment. How impressive were Kos and Vermaelen? Absolute rocks at the back, easily first choice centrebacks if they can keep that kind of performance up. Gibbs was fairly impressive too, couple of small mistakes here and there but overall he impressed me. Did no worse than Clichy would of.

Just hope that performance doesn't make Wenger think we don't need to strengthen that position.

Vermaelen looks back to his usual top class self (thank god), Djourou/Koscielny could easily be capable of stepping up alongside him so the CB area may not be an area in need of massive overhaul after all. LB is still an issue I think despite how Gibbs played today, a new central midfielder to replace Fabregas in the squad (Maybe someone young like Tejero or Cairney). And IMO a backup ST is essential, Chamakh/Vela aside I think the amount of crosses today screams for a 'big man' option for Wenger that isn't a lanky streak of Danish Bacon with a spiky top of hot air.

This. hope they stay like that forever. :P

One of only thing I liked in the match was Szczesny who was good and Kos&TV5 duo. I don't know what people see in Gibbs cos I think he wasn't so good today. Crosses were off. Passes weren't that accurate. I really hope we sign new LB.

then name some candidates, since ur not 'happy' about it. ?????

ffs at least we didnt concided agoal, despite we should have freeking scored.

Cissokho is gonna be freeking expensive, like 20m+.
fabio contreao , IMO priced right at 23m, is at Madrid.

lol i cant think of any other LB's.

Only problem with Gibbs is fitness, not ability, hence why they need another LB in my opinion

I think they should at least test Everton with a bid for Baines.

Personally imo they should have gone for Jose Enrique before Liverpool signed him... £6m bargain.

Can't believe Wenger didn't try to sign Enrique. He would have been the ideal signing and £6m is a very good price.

Don't see any point in trying to sign Baines. He would be pretty costly and is more than just a defender. His crossing would be completely wasted at Arsenal because no one bothers getting into the box anyway.
