I keep conceding goals where the opposition winger (both left and right) get to the byline and put a cross along the six yard box and it gets tapped in and it seems way too easy. I have tried dropping deeper, and giving specific instructions but it doesn't work.

This is only against players like Etherington and Brunt vs Clyne of Southampton.

Is there any way of preventing this?

set your FB's to DEFEND default settings and set your defenders to cover.. try that..

if you have tried man marking, showing onto weaker foot, hard tackling etc..

its also depends on your formation mate.. and the Opp's one too..

Ademilson or Javier Hernandez for a poacher ?

I would start Hernandez any day over the young Ademilson, yes he has great potential but Herndandez is miles better of a striker than him at present

hey mate, that I have yet to concentrate that much on, its a new feature and have not played much.. will check it out today and give you my thoughts on it :)

Any thoughts on that yet? Don't mean no fuss, just hoping you didn't forget :)

Raikan, what is the best way to use Fernando Llorente? I play with 2 strikers up front, so I thought maybe put him as target man, and use the other striker as poacher/deep lying forward. What roles you think are best?

And also - should I put him as target man for the team and have the balls go to him to the head?

hey bud, yeah that is a good idea, CF - Support is also a good idea with an AF - Attack or poacher :)

I will test him out as I have also just got him and will report on his settings

Hey Raikan, two questions, would you play Alaba as a left back or as an MC?

And a technical one, I've seen a lot of people complaining all over the internet about the match engine of FM13, that it's incompetent and kind of "stupid" and can drive you mad and, in general, worst than previous years. I am still in pre-season and I don't have an opinion so I am asking yours according to your experience.

Thank

Also, what do you guys think?

Player: Juan Mata
Team you are managing: Liverpool
Team who are buying/selling: Chelsea
Offer: 28 000 000 €
Year: 2013/14
Other Info: He is transfer listed by Chelsea and they have just sacked Di Matteo so im wondering should I make an offer, is he any good? :) Im thinking that their new manager could take him off from the transfer list so i maybe have to act fast, also PSG has shown their intrest...

ATM i'm having Willian and Wellington Nem as first choice inside forwards, ( Weiss, Borini and Henderson as back ups, I do quite a lot rotating).

Any experience if he's any good at CM position? He should made a good replace to Gerrard...

If I sign him, I should maybe loan Henderson or something...

Thanks!

Sorry, wrong place! :D

Well u can also answer. :D

Hey Raikan, I am a fan of yours. In all FMs I use to manage underdog teams (like Aston villa, Southampton etc) and try to lead them to glory. My favorite formation is 4-4-2 but after playing and testing I have found that my centre midfield can not hold possetion as they are usually outnumbered. For this I think I should play with 1 DMC and 2 CM. However at the same time I don't like the idea of a lone striker. (also I usually play counter style) I am thinking of employing a 4-3-3 tactic with
---------------SCL------SC
--------------(DLF)-----(AF)
------------------------------------- AMR
-------------------------------------(W att)
---------------------CM----CM
------------------(APAtt)--(Sup)
-------------------------DM
----------------------( or Anc)
-----------WBL----DC--------DC------FB
-------------(att)-----(d)--------(d)-----(s)
Do you think this could work? Basically it is assymetric, but the way I see it it has a back 4( which for me is a must in FM as most teamsplay 4-3-3) it has a strong midfield 3, and the right side of the pitch is balanced. On the left side of the pitch I have moved the AML to an STLC position to support more the striker but also help on the wing as possible and I have turned the LB as wing back to partly cover as well the lack of AML. Do you think this would work? or Should I better stick to a classic 4-3-3 formation with AML and AMR? and If I do this should the one winger be IF and the other W? Or both IF?
I am sorry for the big post. Any one else who could answer is welcome

hey mate,

I dont think leaving such a large gap on the left is a great idea, especially for smaller teams playing against better players.. I dont like unbalanced formations personally.. if you do, the STL would need to be a defensive forward or something to help in dropping deeper to cover..

but a good balanced 433 would be the best, playing two upfront is NOT that great in FM13 at the moment, not sure on the new patch this morning, have not played..

just keep it balanced is all I can say

Really appreciate mate. In this case in a 4-3-3 you would suggest both AML,AMR to be IF? also should it be with 1DMC and 2 MC or I should include a AMC in my midfield (with 2 defensive midfielders in suport)? I read somewhere that AMC is not well used in FM13

it depends on your players mate!

wingers work better for me!

AMC is mate if done properly.. he works great for me in my AMC tactic... just depends on the player & settings!

Maybe off-topic

How do I change so I can see players stats in a graphic, bothers me to look through all the different stats to get a good overview of the player :D

Could you suggest anyone to replace the retiring Giggs/Scholes for united? preferably no one too expensive
