1.0 | Introduction
I'm guessing that everyone is familiar with the "Los Galácticos"-project that, current Real Madrid-president, Florentino Pérez started back in 2000. A project based on buying the best players in the world and put them all together to play in the same team. As mentioned it all started back in 2000 when Real Madrid signed the eternal rival Barcelona's captain and star player Luís Figo, a very controversial signing. Pérez followed this up by signing two of the best players in the history of the sport. First out was the french magician Zinedine Zidane that signed in 2001 from Italian outfit Juventus and in 2002 the Brazilian phenomenon Ronaldo arrived from Inter Milan. In 2003 Real Madrid and Florentino Pérez signed englishman David Beckham from Manchester United and his signing was considered as the final galáctico-signing of that project. At the club was already a leading player in the club captain and prolific striker Raúl, a favourite among the fans.
In the end the galáctico-project turned out to be a massive dissapointment. No big titles to show for it and a team that didn't live up to its potential. On the 27:th of February 2006 president Florentino Pérez resigned and galáctico-project was over. Now more than 8 years later it is time for another chapter for the key-players of the "Los Galácticos"-project, as they enter the world of managing...
