The Boxing thread

Was really impressed with Frampton last night, he looked a class above throughout. Him and Scott Quigg has to happen and I think that will be a cracking fight.
 
So looks like Froch and Ward is going to happen either that or someone will have to vacate the title, will happen in the UK too because despite Wards dominance at the weight and bundles of talent he just isn't the draw in the division at all. Also interesting Hearn's views on GGG that Froch will definitely take that fight. Tbh that is a fight that really gets the blood pumping would be an all put war and we would learn a lot about GGG. Would have to back Froch being the bigger man and all that but you just never know with the power Golovkhin possesses

Coyle is simply a stepping stone and a money earner for Campbell and Matchroom - The reaction from Coyle after the fight was embarrassing with the way it finished

Compare Campbell with some of the other 2012 medalists: Shiming lost a world title fight today and Lomachenko is a world champion just to name two!

I thought Coyle had won the world title they way he was celebrating. Embarrassing really like you said after the way it finished.
 
Jamie Moore even doubting his fighter and his discipline. Coyle won't be able to help himself from throwing stupid punches and get involved in the occasion.
 
Not that impressed with the boxing last night. Kovlev won but Pascal never had the power to trouble him and still showed that Kovlev can be caught. Great chin by Pascal but he was always reluctant to throw.

Ranking wise it is a total waste of time Campbell should have just fought Coyle after Brizuela if not before, but it makes so much financial sense for both chaps and you cannot blame them. I think Hearn was genuinely blown away by how many people turned up at Craven Park for Campbell's homecoming. The card realistically was **** the only fight of note was Brook/Jones rematch but the atmmosphere was electric I was about 20 rows from the front I have watched football all over england following Leeds, I have been to el clasico, I have been all to Italy for the Milan derby and I Have been to plenty of matches in Brazil when I did some travelling there a few years back and nothing has ever come close to the atmosphere in that stadium. I think Hearn knows built up the right way this sells out the KC and the stands hold 25k IIRC so with pitchside too you're talking over 30k so I just think it is a financial decision more than anything.

When the fight actually happens it will be inside the distance Coyle will not be able to cope with Campbell boxing out of the southpaw stance and his accuracy. He will be fast tracked up the rankings but I am not sure which title they will put him on. WBA makes sense because you have Crolla in the mix with that title but they really have to push him after this and move him up the ranking s quick. I hope he can win the title I have said it since before the london olympics it would happen, Hearn needs to stop wrapping him up in cotton wool he has been in with some of the best Cubans etc and beaten them all. Believe me and I do not say this lightly if he fights for a title in Hull or defends it here it will be like Hatton all over again because the people in my city love this lad we really do

Should be a decent nights boxing tonight, still think we are yet to see the best of Brook I think we will see a KO tonight in or around round 6. Looking forward to him getting this fight out the way then seeing him fight some of the big names. Needs to really but has plenty of time on his side.

Yep should do it in about 5-7 rounds. Needs big fights to really test him.
