Predicted a 1-1 draw so must say i am not disappointed with that result but i am a little disappointed with the performance and the refs display. 1-1 is a good result, that away goal is absolutely crucial and before anyone thinks that Galatasaray are poor this is a side who were unbeaten against Juventus in 2 games to earn there place to play us, a Juventus side who are better than the one who beat us so easily last season!

See people slating Jose as well stating he "shut up shop", not really. If we took our chances we had in the 1st half we would have been out of sight and its been the same story all season. Gala then righted their wrongs, upped their game and got control of the game. Then is when a coach earns his money, the game was getting away from us we had absolutely no attacks and no control of the football, they had both. So Mikel on will do one thing (and only one thing) and that is keep possession and from when he came on we actually kept hold of the ball. Didn't create much as a team no but neither did they because we actually had the ball.

Felt the ref bowled over every time their supporters starting whistling and what was a yellow for us wasn't for them, one thing you ask for the minimum from refs is CONSISTENCY!

As i said i'm not disheartened by the result, its actually a pretty good result and i fully expect us to finish off the tie next month.

UTC!

Q: Is this Gala side better than last year? Mourinho: 'They were good last year, good this year... basically it's the team that Fatih built'

This is why you don't start Mankini!!!!

It's an interesting situation. There's a small story that is from the wrong sport, but is pretty relevant.

There was an American Footballer called Lawrence Taylor, one of the finest players in his position of all time. In his third season, he was then recognised as the most dangerous player on the pitch. So the opposition began double teaming him to prevent him from playing well.

This was great for his coach, because that took away another defender and left holes in the opposition defensive line. But that coach was clever, and began telling Freeney how he was doubting him. "I got the media coming in here asking me what's wrong with Freeney. What's he doing? Why isn't he playing well? Why isn't he destroying the opposition like he used to?"

Freeney always played with a chip on his shoulder, and when he heard this he was furious. He put in more time, more effort, spent all day in the gym working. Eventually, he had a breakthrough game, obliterating two opposition players again and again. He found his coach in the tunnel after the game and tackled him to the ground, screaming "YOU CAN TELL THE MEDIA FREENEY'S HERE."

Great players don't sit around and cry when they're criticised. They raise their game and prove others wrong. Milan let Pirlo go 'cause they thought he was done. He's still tearing it up. Ferguson let Jaap Stam go, and Stam went on to have an indian summer in Italy. For all we know, it's the same with Eto'o - he's certainly the type - and Mou has previous with this given his relationship with Zlatan was founded on the latter responding to Jose's criticism and then them becoming friends.

I'm not saying this is some grand plan. I'm not even saying it's good that it's happened. What I am saying is that sometimes, these things can work out well, and I don't expect much of a difference at all. Eto'o a pro, after all.

I am very interested in what journalist did this, though. That's a huuuuuge breach of trust, I'd imagine he won't get much work any more.

Good points. What I still think, and I'm completely positive about this, is that Jose shouldn't have said what he said. Unless it's part of a grand plan.... as you said.

Lots of things get said to journalists all the time. Much bigger things than this. Normally, a reporter would be idiotic to betray that trust so things said off the record don't come out.

Again, you can't just trust a random guy and tell him what you think about your strikers and mock them behind their backs. It's WRONG.

Thats exactly the big issue here ... How would you react if someone records a private conversation between you and your friend where you make disparaging remarks about someone and releases it to the public?

No, it's not. Main issue is how Jose shares what he actually thinks about his strikers with random journos. Yes, I will be ******, but then again I wouldn't have said that in the first place. And I'm not even talking about the age joke, cuz it's hilarious.

I'm really eager to see the second episode of this.

The goal scored against Everton has officially been given to Frank Lampard.

Fernando's goal last night was his 13th goal in 17 European appearances for Chelsea. If only
he could be as prolific in the league too!

A number of those were in the EL against the likes of Genk.

Everyone in the world knows we lack a scorer. I really don't see why Nick is getting so angry just because Jose said it ... If Torres or Ba are actually upset over this, they can **** right off. Only person who had legitimate reason to be upset is Eto'o but I really can't see how some age verification joke will get to him. He laughed it off anyways

He can only beat what put infront of him at the end of the day. Some of his European goals have also come against the likes of Bayern, Barcelona, schalke, Basel and Benfica who are good sides. The counter aswell about most of them being in the Europa league what about when we play bottom half sides in the prem who are around the same ability or not as good as some Europa sides? His luck in Europe is just totally different to the premier league.

First of all I'll correct myself - I forgot to put "or" between "Europa League" and "against the likes of Genk".

Secondly, while we can agree that he can only beat what's in front of him, but if someone scored a hat-trick against San Marino you wouldn't exactly call him a world beater. I just don't think good games against Genk or Nordsjaelland are exactly a proof of amazing ability.

Oh don't get me wrong I don't think Torres is a great striker now days far from it but it just seems the little things that don't go for him in the premier league manage to go for him in Europe even if it's against an average side and he also seems a lot happier and has less pressure when he is playing in the european competitions.

Because you can't talk **** about your strikers if you want them to win you trophies, OR, in our case, to perform at a reasonable level. At least. Yes, I'm angry because everyone here backs Jose no matter what. I'm sure if the coach was Benitez reactions of a few people wouldn't be the same. I'm saying Jose is wrong here. Everyone to their own opinion. Let's see if there ever was a grand plan or Jose just ****** up.

Becausse he isn't talking ****. He is just spewing out cold, hard facts. If you expect Jose to come out every week and say we got a great crop of strikers then you are just being delusional ... The reason why it appears as if people he back Jose no matter what is because he is often more right than wrong. Their is no grand plan. Their is no ******* up. Whatever Jose said was the truth and if Ba and Torres retain any sense of pride, this would motivate rather than upset them

Are you for real? Why did he say he didn't need any new strikers in January then? WHY? Oh, yeah, I forgot. BECAUSE HE ISN'T FIGHTING FOR TITLES THIS SEASON.

Give me a break. Enough of this. I've had enough.

And its because its not Benitez and its Jose the reason why people are believing him! Jose has stated from day 1 this is a building exercise this season, the striker situation will be sorted this summer which is something he has also said on more than 1 occasion.
