Rooney chasing was pointless from the beginning. I still don't get that move. United aren't Arsenal. If next season, we finish 3rd again with no PL title/CL title, I will be ******. But not now.

If that happens then it will be a failure 100%.

Same league finish as last year.
Worse domestic cup performance.
One less European trophy.
Continue to play defensive football despite [marginally] better players.

On the bright side, you didn't sack a manager this season. :)

And right before a ball was even kicked i said that should be our main aim for this season, make sure the same man is in charge this time next season.

Looks like Ashley Cole is going as he was in tears during the lap of honour :( been a pleasure watching the best left back the premier league has seen in a Chelsea shirt true legend.

What a player he has been, he leaves a Chelsea legend no doubt about it.

The only thing wrong with Hazard's comments after the game was that he said them publicly. apart from that he was correct.

He was correct and he didn't even say anything against the side anyway the media twisted it as per.

I do actually agree to an extent, but it was strange considering the Liverpool coaching staff said he was still the quickest player in the Liverpool side when he left for Chelsea so no idea why he declined in that sense very quickly

Technically Torres has never been the best and he relied on explosive power and pace. As soon as he lost either it was downhill from there

I'm actually glad to hear this from a Liverpool fan because its what i have been saying for 18 months now easily. Its Chelsea's fault for still going through with the transfer at the end of the day, 50mill for a ornament with parts shattered, what a deal.

Not sure if i was watching a re-run of the West Ham game today or not! I wrote something after we lost at Palace on why i believe we keep dropping points against the sides who can "park the bus". I find something quite funny that we cannot beat the thing we use to beat other top sides but my got its frustrating!

I named 2 reasons why i felt we struggle against this system and from what i saw today my mind has not changed. 1) The lack proper wingers, all our "wingers" are at their best cutting inside and as our fullbacks don't offer much width the game becomes so narrow and very easy to defend against. And 2) a proper striker who will gamble and get into "striker" areas when them crosses appear, someone who can finish both feet and head the ball too. I also said most of the games where dropped these points against the so called smaller sides it was when we were without Eto'o because his link-up play is very good and that can drag players out of position and create some space.

Although the season is not totally over yet i think in most of our minds, the players and Jose's minds it is and what do i make of it? Well before a ball was even kicked this season i believed we should have 2 objectives. 1) Top 4 and 2) Make sure the same manager is in charge next summer. And both of them seem to have happened (there is still time for Chelsea to sack Jose) and i never felt we would or had to win a trophy this season as this season was about some stability. We can all see where the problems lie in this side so Jose will too and i back him 100% to sort it this summer. He said from his first day back and i quote "next season (2014/15) will be better for us" so surely we owe him the chance to show us?

So just Cardiff away and nothing to play for for either side so i hope we see a few young lads, Ake, Van Ginkel and Kalas etc would love a run out and could easily match Cardiff.

Sad to see Ashley Cole leaving he will leave a Chelsea legend in my eyes but i do think its the right time and its a good thing for the club.

It'll be interesting to see who will be sold fund transfers considering you need a backup LB, a CB if Terry is leaving, a striker and maybe a winger/CM.

We already have Zouma coming in plus Kalas looks ready to step up

Torres seems to be the same case as Kaka/Owen tbh. Great success and even greater workload from the very young age, and eventually both body and mind just couldn't take it anymore. Even being theoretically injury free and fully fit didn't help much, once they burned out, they burned out for good.

All of their clubs should be ashamed of themselves.

Last 3 league games, Chelsea have dropped 5 points against Sunderland and Norwich. Both at home too. Had they won those games (which they do 9/10 times) they would have had 84 points and 1 point ahead of both Liverpool and City even if they win the games.

Thank you for ruining my morning :(

Chelsea have been like the Robin Hood of football this season taking points from the rich and giving them to the poor.

Obviously Mourinho has got talent. He's a brilliant manager but nowhere near what he used to be. He failed at Madrid and for me hasn't dont too well this season at Chelsea. For me; he's gone stale, boring, and bitter.

If winning one league title and a cup against the mighty Barcelona side that was considered the best team of the decade is a failure ... I would love to be a failure anytime

I don't particularly mind the criticism. The track record that Jose has built over his career means that any season he goes without a trophy is considered a 'failure' whereas someone like Wenger can go 8 seasons without winning anything and still be considered a success. Jose always has delivered in the second season throughout his career so nothing lost yet ... Only going to get better ffrom now

Even when not considering he was completely hamstrung by the ridiculous Madrid backroom politics, Jose's time at Madrid still resulted in him breaking the Barca hegemony at a time where they were seen to be unstoppable. He was the first person to properly stop Barca. I don't think his time there was a failure at all.

The backroom thing he has done to himself tbh. His usual little-horsie-ref-conspiracy-everybody-is-against-us narrative had to be a tough sell to squad that's packed with World Cup and CL winners.

I'd pay a dolla to be a fly on the wall during some of his speeches.

Jose - so, Real Madrid is a small club and...(Ronaldo starts crying)...we cannot compete with wealth of superpower like Levante (Casillas starts texting his journalist girlfriend)...we need to aspire to one day be as good as Malaga (Ramos throws pizza at him)

Similarly, antagonizing Barca so much has been very shortsighted of him, even if it did help break their domination. When players are buttbuddies from national team, trying to turn them into enemies will eventually backfire and they will turn against you.

Considering he had the 'best team in real madrid's history' then yeah that is pretty ****. (The words in bold are his own.)

The Madrid back staff were against him, UEFA are biased to Barcelona, God has a problem with him, etc etc.

So what? Barcelona probably had the best team in their own history and it was better than Madrids. Core of homegrown players who had played together for years. Master tactician in Pep as their manager. The best player in the world in Messi as their figurehead. He still beat them in the end and only a fool would classify his tenure at Madrid as a failure

Every dog has their day. How many cups did Barca win then?
