Really excited. Finally an elite centre-forward added to the ranks. Two absolutely world-class players in Fabregas and Costa secured barely a day into the transfer window. Excellent work by Emeleano

Now just need a full-back and that completes an amazing squad

Diego Costa is not "absolutely world class" I'm afraid. He may prove me wrong but he has had half a good season really. Think he will be a decent signing tho, but to say he is world class is delusional.

Nah, he's not World-Class, have to disagree there strongly. He's had a few good seasons at Atletico, that doesn't make him World-Class though.

I don't know man. Hope he doesn't turn out to be a huge burden (attitude) for us.

He is aggressive and confrontational on the pitch which is something we need tbh ... He just needs to tone down on the more ridiculous aspects such as head butting people

He has been pretty good for 2-3 seasons now but was always overshadowed by more illustrious names like Falcao. Our definitions of world-class may differ but he still is an elite centre-forward and a huge huge improvement to our front-line

If 36 and 20 goals in the last 2 seasons isn't showing signs of being a world class striker I don't know what is.

An improvement over Torres and an out of date Eto'o without mentioning Ba isn't exactly hard to achieve though.

Defo an improvement but anyone the media talk up the slightest bit seems to be world class all of a sudden. Wish him well though.

No it isn't but he still is a massive massive improvement on anything we have had. 36 goals in 44 games last season leading his team to the league title. 20 goals in the season before despite not being the main striker as he was behind Falcao. 15 goals in 20 games the season before that when he was sent out on loan and playing for a vastly inferior team. Already matches the highest goal tally Didier Drogba ever had at Chelsea. Plus he is only 25

Cant wait to see him leading the line with the likes of Fabregas, Hazard, Oscar and Willian feeding him

You don't actually need a squad full of world-class players to win the CL/EPL. Jose has won a ******* treble with Milito. It's all about how you use the players to their full potential. If Jose is sure Costa can win him stuff then that's fine.

Costa has been Jose's first-choice since January after the failed pursuit of Rooney. Our defense was already the best in the league. Now with the additions of Matic, Fabregas and Diego Costa our team is more or less complete. Hope Jose can recreate the footballing machine that was the Chelsea squad in his first two seasons

So we sold a massively talented yet erratic central defender for £50m. We bought a world-class midfielder and an elite centre-forward for £60m. I'd say that's probably the best bit of business this club has done in some time

Whoa slow down, big Diego was a ******* beast for Jose. One of those weird Serie A strikers that hits their peak at like 33.

I will agree though. People put too much stock in a whole squad of world class players, when in fact what you need is a couple of true worldies supported by a crop of excellent ones.

Stupid good business. Stupid, stupid good.

BTW you guys, I'm counting on you. United fans are getting optimistic and I'm not liking it. Crush them plz Jose

I said around a month ago, Chelsea sign Fabregas, Costa and Filipe and they'll win the league.

I firmly believe they are string favourites, especially considering Man City and their FFP ruling

Best thing I've read on here, so true, just look at the world cup. Thought milito was good though!

50 million for luiz was an amazing bit of business!

Jose in his first season is good. Jose in his second and third seasons is ridiculous. Chelsea have a terrifying squad, I'd be surprised if anyone else won it.

Good. The more hopeful and full of bright eyed anticipation they get, the more it will hurt when we kick them squarely in the nuts.

Second season at Porto - Won the Champions League, league title and cup

Second season at Inter - Won the Treble

Second season at Madrid- Won the league and beat the best team in the world on his way

Give him a season to implement his ideas and he usually delivers in the next. Hopefully Jose has not lost his special touch just yet
